My son has been going here for 6 years and each year the school only gets better, the values they teach are worth more than any money in the world. They are building leaders here not only academically but spiritually.

Horeb has truly been a blessing to our family. Their teachers and staff went above and beyond to help our daughters get adjusted to starting a new school. The schools main focus is on academics starting with the principal and it shows through from all the teachers.

I regret so much having put my kid in this school. What a waste of time and money. This school is a disaster from teachers who bully the kids or watch other kids be bullied and allowing it to continue. The principle is basically useless and sadly will bully your kid too he will always try to make it seem its your child's fault no matter the situation. Its really all about the money at this school. If you were to make the terrible decision to place your child here you will notice quickly how poorly this school is run. My kid hating going to school everyday and asked me when would I find another school. Thankfully I did. But in truth if I hadn't found on I was ready to home school I just couldn't keep take my kid to a school they were so unhappy at. Please rethink your decision about placing your child in this school.

I am very grateful to this school. They have accommodated my son who has severe allergies. I feel he is safe. Their curriculum is strong and advanced. It’s more like a family than a school. This school has been a blessing to my family.

I speak in all sincerity that I can not have my daughter at a better school. It's a shame that some people can't see past their ignorance and pass up a great opportunity to have their child/children at this school. Some of the previous comments are upsetting because that is not what Horeb is all about. The administration is wonderful and always helpful and the teachers are amazing! When I enter the school grounds to drop off my child, I feel such an enormous sense of security knowing that my child is getting the education and love that she needs to succeed. Yes LOVE. The teachers teach from their heart because of the spiritital foundation. I am also certain that my child is getting the best quality in education. In a matter of weeks after starting school my daughter learned how to read given the fact that she did not fully learn the alphabet before starting. I am beyond amazed and blessed to have her there with wonderful teachers who truly inspire and create an impact that will last a lifetime.

Horeb is an amazing school led by Mr. Makie, a great principle who changed the school for the better in a matter of one year. The teachers are always willing to help the students succeed in their studies and prosper in life. The school is an overall amazing place to take your children and be assured that they are growing in their faith and studies.

My daughter attends this school and I couldn't be happier. The New principle Mr. Maki is an amazing person. He truly cares about the school and has provided a lot of opportunities for the students to enhance their learning. The preschool staff is amazing my daughter has never cried because she has to stay in school. At pick up she asked to stay longer, that's how great their preschool is. We are so excited for the next up coming year.

I am very happy with Horeb. The school has great teachers with great leadership. I also love the family environment that is encouraged.

In reading the other reviews it's apparent that faith is a core issue to those writers. To me as a parent the main emphasis is academics. My goal is not for Horeb to help me chisel my child into a Christian but provide the academic tools to move him further in his studies. Academics is NOT currently as the central core issue at the school. Yes other programs that to me are of less important programs are offered such as dance, and athletics. These are meant to increase school profitability along with allowing parents to watch their child perform. This is NOT to me what I want to spend my money on! The SAT & ACT are rather unforgiving and I will be changing schools to provide my son a better academic environment and opportunity of excelling!

I strongly disagree with the previous comment regarding Horeb Christian School. The new administration together with the Pastors’ goal is to go above and beyond for the students, families, and staff members. They stand by their commitment and do ensure that the school’s mission is executed. The academic standards are high with a rigorous curriculum. The tuition at this school compared to others in the community is well priced. Horeb has a variety of active honor clubs: National Honor Society, National Spanish Honor Society, Thespian Honor Society, Dance Honor Society, National Elementary Honor Society, National Junior Spanish Honor Society, and Florida Business Leaders of America. These societies are participating in different service projects with partnering charities. They have scheduled trips where the students will be able to grow in knowledge. Just to name a few: “Night at the Museum” with the elementary students, Yes! Educational Programs at Disney, and a trip to Washington. At Washington the students will visit the White House, Smithsonian Museum, Congress, and the Holocaust Museum. The school is also participating with all the Fairchild Garden challenges across the curriculum. If that’s not an amazing opportunity for education, then what is? The teachers set up their students to succeed! My child’s SAT scores last year were two or three grade levels above her current grade. The athletic department with the commitment of outstanding sponsors is amazing! The different sports activities offered are: Volleyball, Cross Country, Basketball, and Softball. I can go on and on with all this school has to offer. The school is committed to excellence! One cannot talk about the current year if they are not present. To point out someone else’s Christianity and even talk about the Pastors does not show much Christianity in this community member. I have to say that I will pray for this person. Unfortunately, they had a bad experience and God will work with them to find peace.

Although I went to Horeb since i was in K3 and graduated from the school, I can't help but regret my decision to stay in this school. When I was younger, the school administration (a different administration from the one in charge now) was very committed to their efforts of ensuring that their mission was executed-- impacting the world for Christ. However, as the years went by, and this new administration took over, this mission was neglected. It is sad to see the way a "Christian" school acts more like a worldly business that is willing to do literally anything to gain money, Greed has corrupted this school. It is a shame to call this school a ministry, as it was intended to be since the day it was founded. Aside from the money hungry administrators AND PASTORS (if you can even call them that), this school is overpriced. In our day and age, being accepted into a reputable university is becoming more and more competitive, let alone win scholarships that can cover your tuition at these institutions. When looking at what it costs to attend Horeb, one would assume that it is worth the cost. Unfortunately, it is not. They DO NOT OFFER any AP classes. AP classes are slowly but surely becoming the standard courses in almost every high school. Please, as someone who graduated from this school, I beg you to research other schools! There are plenty of schools, some of them are even free, that offer so much more! Horeb will have little to no contribution to your academic success when compared to the opportunities offered in other schools. Words cannot even begin to describe just how much I regret staying in Horeb because of this very reason. Although I did create many beautiful memories and formed friendships that will last a lifetime, I can't deny the fact that Horeb is academically unfit for those high school students who truly care about their future.

This school is an absolute blessing! From the school administration to the teachers, everyone goes above and beyond to care for and instruct our children not only academically but spiritually as well. I feel a part of a true and genuine school family.

I have nothing but positive comments. I read the comments below and cannot help but feel they are very much isolated incidences that are being exaggerated.

My children have been in this school for the past eight years. I cannot imagine having them anywhere else. It is an environment like NO OTHER. The teachers are true examples of Christians. The administration goes above and beyond to for both the parents and staff. There are few places like this that still exist; where you can walk your child to class and speak to the teacher daily. My children started at Horeb because we had a friend that was a teacher at Twin Lakes Elementary and she mentioned that most of the teachers at her school had their own children at Horeb. That in itself spoke volumes. I believe that from the principal to the administration the school has been blessed with amazing staff.

Ridiculous school. Is it normal for elementary school to give kids 7 tests in one day? This school lacks leadership and they make the rules as they go The new administration has no knowledge of how to run a school and complaints are ignored. The main focus is fundraising. They say they'll help your child with a disability but they don't. I recommend you do not waste your child's time in this school. It's going from bad to worse fast. Some teachers are good and do their best but with constant changes and no help from administration everything is very disorganized.

When administration fires some of the most loved teachers for unjust, selfish, and prideful reasons, you wonder whether or not this is a Christian school. From 2012-2015, junior and junior highschool students had one of the best Bible teachers; one who couldn't be found in any other school. Because of this, there was jealousy and hatred. That's what got him out. Then another brilliant teacher was fired as she was expecting a baby & won't be here for a couple of days next school year. They'll always remain in our hearts. Without them, we are no longer the family we once were. If you are looking for a good school to put your child in, it's too late. As a school, we've never hit this low. I've been here 8 years and I've never been this disappointed. The problem is ignorance, jealousy, superficiality, and an awful curriculum that will only brain wash your children If they allow themselves to be manipulated. Take my word, and speak to students and other faculty / staff members that have worked or attended this school for many years.

This school is amazing as far as a family and Christian environment . Students are treated with love and kindness and many of the teachers are wonderful. That being said in the past two years their curriculum has become the downfall of thus school. The curriculum currently used not only does not challenge the students but if not up to par with other private or public schools. This needs to be changed and it will be the great school it once was!!!
