As an educator who has taught at other schools and in other states; I can say that HES is a wonderful school. We are always striving to do what is best for their students and community. We are constantly analyzing the data from our students. Teachers also are continuing with professional development(learning themselves). I am proud to say I am a teacher at Headland Elementary School!!!!!

Henry County has a Zero Tolerance to bullying; however, many students are bullied frequently on the playgroundrofanity/vulgarity/threats). Mrs. Shipes has not done her job to stop it; she failed to ever punish those students who were harassing innocent children. She needs to do Headland Elementary a favor & retire.

Overall I am not happy with this school. They don't have a gym so be prepared for your kids to tell you all about the movies they watched and forget any bonding time with friends during lunch...with your teacher sitting along side you and assigned boy/girl seating, oops no talking either...who has time?? School should be more than just a learning place but a time to make lifelong friends and happy memories. Respect is a two way street...if you want it you need to give it too and clearly the kids side of the street is shut down. Enthusiasm is not the opposite of discipline... which in my opinion this school could use more of.
