Good experience thus far. Staff show compassion and caring. Cost is pretty good too. Disagree with the other reviewers cultish experience and poor teaching. Nothing has been forced on us. We are respectful and follow the rules just like any other school requires. And we are happy with the education.

There were good times and not so good times as with any school. My child received a good quality education at CBS and was well prepared for college. My child received scholarships and was able to skip a couple of basic college courses due to scoring well on the ACT test. Just because they are not accredited, does not mean a child can't go to a community college or university. The ACT test is what determines admittance. If you live in the Hattiesburg area, I would highly recommend Central.

Overall I think this is a good school. It is one of the lowest priced private schools in the area. School is not accredited. The classrooms are split between two grades with the same teacher, but doesn't seem to be an issue. Class sizes are extremely small which is good. Friendly folks. They use the abeka program.

Most of the teachers at Central Baptist School do a very poor job at teaching. Some teachers give the students the exact questions and answers to their test two days before it will be taken so all the student has to do is memorize a few answers. Open-book testing is a common occurrence as well. Very few of their teachers actually have teaching degrees- the ones that do graduated from an unaccredited Bible college. As far as the "strong spiritual environment," they focus on teaching children to believe and obey what the authority tells them more than anything else! They definitely underemphasize Jesus' teachings on loving God and loving others (which Jesus says repeatedly is the greatest commandment of all.) *I think that this is probably due to the fact that they themselves don't understand how to truly love others.* This school (and the church associated with it) is cultish; If you don't believe and do exactly what they teach, then they don't want you there. They will try to brainwash your child in the name of Christianity (which is one of the furthest things from Christianity I've ever heard of.) I apologize if this offends anyone, but this is the most honest review possible.

Central Baptist School offers an amazing academic challenge to their students. Their student body tests above the national average every year on their Stanford Achievement Tests, and the 10th graders this past year all testes above average on their ACT. I am proud to send my children to a school where they will be pushed and encouraged to learn not only academics, but also God's Word. They have an amazing staff that truly desires to see your child succeed.
