HORRIBLE!! If you are a conservation family with morals and ethics, this school is not for you!! They show none of the values that the Hamilton Community values and it is bringing the entire community down. This starts with our administration and school board who do not stand up for our kids!! We have only 1 board member who does fall in line and comply with the superintendent on EVERY issue. He is the only one who stands up for our students and wants what is best for them! The others are only trying to please the superintendent!

Absolutely NO TEACHER should EVER call her students STUPID!!!!!! Especially when those students are in a special education class. Students should never leave a class in tears because the teacher is so mean. Especially when that group of kids already struggle at school. What a horrible environment to send your child to every day! A group of people who are suppose to help and care - simply don't!!! It is completely unacceptable that this is allowed to go on at all!!! It is also not okay for a teacher to tell a student to take their meds in front of the entire class!! Special education students are not all on medication, they don't have something that a pill is going to magically fix. Dyslexia is NOT fixed with a pill!! The Hamilton Middle School staff needs to be educated on what Special Education really is and learn to have empathy for a student who does not learn in the same way as others!!! They need training to understand because right now they do not!! No even the special education teachers who should be empathic and understanding!! It is just ridiculous!

When a teacher and coach is allowed to bully a student. When that is not addressed and the teacher/coach is allowed to continue the harassment of that student it gives the teacher power over their victims. The teacher/coach makes sure this student never has a fair chance during his middle and high school career in academics as well as athletics. This happens at Hamilton Schools. When a parent complains to try to protect their child - the teacher takes it out on the student. They tell them how their parent is embarrassing themselves and the student by complaining. The teacher is allowed to continue coaching, teaching and continues to bully and harass students. They blame the victim for being to sensitive or that the child did something to deserve this treatment. The same teachers have power and know they can do anything. They make school life unbearable for these kids. This is not true of all teachers and coaches, but the ones who are allowed to behave in such a way give all the teachers at Hamilton Schools a bad reputation.

Be the Good. This is what is written in the school windows. Yet - it is tough to find the good. The school works very hard to not get help for children who struggle. Seems like it is too much work for everyone to give kids what they need. If a child does qualify for special education they are "labeled" by all their teachers as a bad kid. Many teachers do not believe in the accommodations they view these kids as lazy or "off their meds". Special Education is a blanket term and translates into problem children even though those children just learn a different way! If you are dyslexic and need help you are treated the same way as a child who may have different issues. This school desperately needs empathy training and training on what special education really needs to be!! If just one person treated a child with kindness they might do way better than they are. Always assuming kids are terrible and don't care helps no one!!!Not every child is a "bad" kid.Not every child learns the same way.Give a child what they NEED and watch them grow!!!Kids learn better when they are happy and enjoying themselves. Not when they are sad, scared and frustrated. If you have a child with any type of struggle. Vision problem, dyslexia, ADD/ADHD - find another school. The teachers and staff do not understand these disorders and just label these children as BAD kids and want them medicated. It is a very sad situation. They want you to "be the good" yet they do not lead by example.

Heartbreaking and gut-wrenching is how I would describe this school. Guard your children's heart if they go here. Make sure they have a safe, loving environment to return to after school. They will need it because this school will slowly destroy them. Teachers, students and administrators bully children. Then blame the child being bullied! If your child is bullied is is their fault NEVER the student that is being mean. If your child doesn't fit the mold "athletic, wealthy or a child of a teacher, school board member or someone they feel is important" they will have zero chance at a quality education in a safe environment! The above children have freedom to do and say whatever they want no matter who they hurt in the process!!! They will never be blamed - it will be the child that doesn't fit that mold. Your child will struggle and get poor grades because of "opinion based grading". Again if you fit the "mold" your child will get great grades with little effort. When working in groups in class teachers are okay with one child being left out, it is okay to disregard certain students contributions because that student is not liked by their peers! Hamilton Middle School should be avoided at all costs.

Ugh!! Nothing has changed!! Every year you hope things get better!! They just don't!Every year numerous parents complain about this school - especially the math department. Things never change!! They don't listen to the struggles kids are facing in understanding math. They refuse to change the way they explain/teach and are content when kids fail. They have no solid assistance for kids who struggle.

This is a school that needs a complete overhaul!!! Lots and lots of problems and not one administrator willing to deal with and fix the problems.Students are stressed out and overwhelmed. They leave believing they are stupid and cannot do anything right. When a child needs help and his/her parents are begging for help for them their is no way to get it. They simply have nothing in place to help students. Students who are smart or athletic will do great. They get special treatment, special projects and special trips! They get to take fun classes while those that may not score well on standardized testing and stuck in a building all day everyday with very little to no joy in their day. They are constantly reminded that they aren't as smart as their peers. They miss out on band or PE/Art or some of the other fun classes as they are forced to take Math Lab or Strategic Reading so they can get their Standardized test scores up. These classes don't get to do the special trips or outings. They are essentially punished for being a slower learner!

Not a great place! If you want your child to hate school and quit. Come here! Teachers are intimidating and unhelpful!! To portray to the class a failing grade-kids are shown videos of bombs going off-so they know they bombed the test! Math is a school wide problem! But it is your child's fault for not trying hard enough. Kids are encouraged & expected to look to friends or other children for help & support when they don't understand math. Expect to have to pay for a tutor for a passing grade in math! Teachers arrive and leave at the same time as the kids! Many teachers arrive late to class even in the middle of the day! Students can sit for 15+ minutes of a 60 minute class waiting for a teacher to arrive. Homework doesn't count! Only tests scores! And watch out for Standards Based Grading (opinion based grading)! If the instructions say to bake a cake-you should bake cupcakes (as standards based grading is explained on their website). Go the extra mile and you will get a 4 (A+). Just following directions would get you a 3.5. This method of grading teaches kids to not follow directions - which will be tough in the workplace!! If I ordered a cake - I want a cake!!!!!

"Personal Experience with Exceptional Results" is Hamilton Schools motto. This could not be further from the truth!!! If you are looking for a personal experience of failure, learning to hate school and failing grades this is the place for your child!! No exceptional results here!! And definitely no personal experience! If you have a struggling student(s) and do not qualify for help you are out of luck!!!! Unless you have a legal document - your child will struggle to understand!!! They have no real programs in place to help children who have a difficult time!! It is a one size fits all approach!! If you don't fit the mold you are out of luck! The math program at this school is a complete disaster!! Your child will leave unprepared for high school!!! The worst part is they don't have any idea how to teach math or how to help so students understand. The parking lot area for pick up and drop off is a very dangerous, very congested place and the administration doesn't address the issue. They hide so they don't see the problems!
