The Blue School is a branch of The Learning Center. We teach Pre-Ged and Ged. We have a remarkable record of helping students attain a GED. We teach objective skills on an individual basis. Many of these students would be lost in the traditional education system if it were not for our program.

The Learning Center has a branch called the Drop-Out Prevention Center which is a safety net for at-risk students. The faculty provide online courses and/or skills to earn a GED. The district provides transportation to/from for students in need. In addition, the district pays for GED testing cost for the students. Faculty members will make home visits to determine needs of students.

The Learning Center is the alternative school for the Gulfport School District. They have a wonderful, dedicated staff who work very hard to not only help students with their academic studies but also to help inspire them to become productive members of society.

The Gulfport School District is leading a courageous effort to implement the Common Core State Standards for the state of MS. The teachers, students and administrative team are doing an outstanding job of transitioning! As a result, several districts have visited to gain ideas. Kudos to our Gulfport team for raising standards and leading the way! ! PS: Awesome Shakespearean play last week!
