1. Too much bullying and nothing was ever done about it.

Farnsworth is an AMAZING school! To start, the teachers are cool, and fun and engaging! Secondly, The school tries so hard to make you feel comfortable and fit in with other school members. Lastly here's the truth... even though the students and teachers are great the establishment isn't. The building is falling apart with no reno. or upgrades since 2005 when they added a new section to the school (seneca); which leaves all of the other sections dwindiling on their last thread since they are 30 years older than seneca. Litteraly there isn't any proper heating inside the classrooms which makes it freezing during the winter. And there isn't any AC during the spring/summer. If they want to keep the building standing they better make some reno with the taxes we give them. Another thing to note. At farnsworth it's if it isn't broken don't fix it. Almost everything in the school that is broken or in need of repair gets duct-taped back up or sugar coated with new paint which usually falls off after a couple days. Besides that the fun and engaging staff members provide a solid experience for new or existing students.

Generally good test scores here, but having been there for three years and now in high school, i feel entitled to say my first year was quite uncomfortable. Not much offered here to individualize to fit the needs of the student. Only special needs students get special attention. Otherwise, classes are quite general and class sizes are growing exponentially. Guilderland, though they have great schools now, don't know what to do with their money and no longer care about the student. They change schedules and arrangements for the worse and try to make it sound better to appeal to voters. Unfortunately, the residents of Guilderland are as greedy as the members of the school board and throw money only at what is best presented to them. It's about time they face the ugly truth that Guilderland won't be able to uphold a standard of excelence if they can't stay financially afloat.

i am a 6th grader in FMS, and I LOVE IT. Although i do have one reccomendation. I happen to be *hehe* one of the most gifted students in hiawatha. i am sad to say there is only one enrichment teacher, for the 200+ gifted students.
