I was SO pleasantly surprised with this school! My son had Mrs. Nystrom for 1st grade and she was fantastic. It was so fun at the open house to see so many upper elementary kids come in and give her hugs ... my overall experience with the staff & teachers there was great. The kids get art, music, PE, and library/media one day each week, each with a dedicated teacher/classroom. You don't see that very often in public schools any more! Class size was great as well; I think my son only had 17 kids in his classroom.

I fell like Claude Chester Elementary School has done so much for me and my family. The secretary at Claude Chester is wonderful. She is a hard worker. I like this school a lot and I think that the teachers that are there are great. Thank you for all of your hard work, Claude Chester School family.

School could use ALOT more work! It hasn't really been supportive of my child, & don't agree with how they have my son's cubby/locker, He can't hang his backpack or jacket like his peers, everything is just shoved in the cubby. I know if I was kid I wouldn't want that! I've overheard & seen things where I overall don't agree with how the students are treated; esp. by para-professionals. I also feel the para-professionals should have some workshops to learn more about children with special needs.

I feel the school has an excellent educator base who really care about the children and want them to succeed. My daughter has attended the kindergarten program. I am impressed with the teacher's desire to cater to their needs in what could be a very distracting and new environment for children entering elementary school.

I believe that this school could use a lot of work. The principal is great, but she is leaving at the end of the year so who knows what will come of this school. I truly believe her to be the only strong point of the school. The curriculum is minimal and have never seen such minimal requirements put on students. The teachers I have encountered are below average, and to me it seems like the aides work harder than many of the teachers.
