Absolutely wonderful school! My children recently transferred in, and the transition was smooth and my kids love their new school. Academics are top notch, wonderful teachers, welcoming kids and families, and a fun, yet most strict environment where the kids are kind and well behaved. It’s everything we wanted in a school and more!

This school is extremely biased towards the students with families with higher involvement. Not only have they understated the severity of death threats, racism and assault, but have also punished students of color for smaller demeanors than what other caucasian students may be excused of. There is a clear racist and classist biased within these walls.

The school served its purpose during the pandemic as our child attended school daily so that my husband and I as essential employees could work. Additionally, my child did learn the basic required knowledge necessary for their grade level. That being said, the teachers are not equipped with the ability to create lessons that challenge students or are creative in any way. My child has even told me that the head teacher is “constantly typing on her phone.” Worksheet after worksheet review the same material starting in week one and this continues into June. The school lacks the ability to provide guidance for any student needing to be taught “outside the box” whether that means emotional challenges, giftedness, behavioral issues, or a combination of these things. If you have an average student with average behavior, have a family member working at the school, or are a big donor, you will do well here. Otherwise send your child to public school and use the money you save for extracurricular activities and/or tutoring.

My son just started with GCS and I cannot be more pleased. Great teachers, curriculum, and management. I look forward to see my son grow with GCS in the next 8 years!

On the positive side, Greenwich Catholic School emphasizes academics and excellence, but also incorporates innovative teaching. There are many school events and a tight-knit community. Great for students who are average or above in their abilities, and who are mainstream in their temperament. Many boys and their families are unhappy here because the boys are treated more harshly than girls, even for similar behavior. Teachers not at all attuned to these issues. Some teachers have been there for years and are dedicated. Others would likely not be able to keep a teaching job elsewhere, because of their incompetence or the way they treat the students. Favoritism toward students whose parents are active in the parent association/significant donors.

This is a wonderful school and community. We have been very impressed by the administration's efforts to continually challenge students academically while focusing at the core on developing good human beings. Kindness, conscientiousness, and community-responsibility are integral lessons alongside math, language arts, music, art, etc. There are a lot of options for extra-curricular activities and options for extended hours that cater to working parents.

A nice elementary school and safe learning environment. Teachers are nurturing while setting boundaries. Of course everyone has an opinion best way to see if GCS is a good fit is to talk to current parents.

Greenwich Catholic provides an excellent environment for learning both academically & spiritually. The staff, led by Mrs. Kopas, does a superior job of helping students achieve their potential.

Greenwich Catholic School is a great school that offers strong academics as well as good moral and Christian values. Mrs Kopas is a strong educational leader and wonderful principal who has our children's well being at heart. She is very accessible to parents and students.

Teachers do not care about the students. They allow the students who's parents are on the board and on the HSA committee to walk around the school like they own the place. There are the rules for them and another set for the rest of the student body. The students are rude and entitled with 0 integrity and manners. What's worse is they learn this from the behavior of the parents. It's a very sad environment. The parents all talk badly about each other. Even the ones that claim to have been friends since preK. Save your money. Most go here because it's cheap and can't afford better or because their kids can't get into the more elite private schools of Stamford and Greenwich.

This is not a safe environment for a child to be in . I got punched either in the face this year more then once don't care. The only good part about the school is the religion teacher who will listen to you and talk to you whenever you need it. The rest of the school is just terrible. Some kids are nice so just are mean and bullies. Stay away from the bullies if you go to this school

We have two children enrolled in GC and couldn't be more pleased with our decision to enroll our children. Mrs. Kopas is an outstanding leader and educator. The teachers are concerned and dedicated and we feel that our children are very fortunate to have the GCS experience.

I went to this school for a couple years and could not have had a worse experience. In the middle school, the students were very conceded, rude, mean-spirited, fake and pretentious; pretending to be victims of bullying when really they were the ones causing the problems. Basically if you did not start GCS with them then you were considered an outsider, unless you followed they're actions. Indivuality and creativity was frowned upon by the students and teachers, despite what other reviewers might have said. Minorities are disproportionatelty represented in this school. On a positive note, there were four teachers that were very inspiring and helped me through my middle school years. However, some other teachers were more concerned with being friends with the students and kissing up to the parents rather than teaching. They seemed to be equally as fake as the students. Overrall, I advise parents to think very carefully before you send your kids to this school.

We are a second generation GCS family with over 26 years of experience with the school. Since 2009 our new Principal, Mrs. Patrice Kopas, has brought outstanding leadership to the staff and to a renewed faculty body. We can afford the most expensive schools in the area, but have found that GCS provides the same quality education in a more well rounded environment. The religious aspect is present but not stiffling, children do attend mass together and learn catholic prayers, but they are mostly taught the importance of being kind and having faith. While children learn how to be respectful of others, they are also encouraged to express their individuality. Parents take a very active role within the school, there is a true sense of inclusion and community. The campus is unparallel and there is currently a millionaire initiative to upgrade buildings and facilities (which are already well maintained). The excellent Blue Ribbon academic experience stars with the Little Angels and Pre-K programs, which are outstanding. Don't be discouraged by the wait lists!.

GCS is an amazing place that educates the whole child. There is a loving nurturing atmosphere that pervades the whole school. Teachers really care about your children and go the extra mile. Christian values and morals are an integral part of the school and children are encouraged to become the best person they can be and treat each other with respect. We have been at the school for 11 years and absolutely love it. The curriculum is rigorous and challenging. My oldest child graduated last year and was not only accepted in to all his first choice schools- he was also placed in honors sophomore level courses and the school he chose. I can not say enough good things about GCS and the quality of the teachers, students and the parent body.

GCS is mediocre school. Curriculum is out dated and lacks interest. Teachers teach the mediocre curriculum. There is a lot of bullying that goes on at the school. Make sure that you attend a sporting event so that you can see how the coaches treat the kids.
