Terrible quality. The food is long past expired, and the work environment is not healthy for children in need. The principal agrees with violent acts and has a sketchy history. Overall, don’t send your kid here.

The principal is the worst to deal Ms brown she is a very hard person. She will give you and your children a very hard time I do not recommend this school it's terrible

Military families feel obligated to put their kids in this school. But, let me save you some time and advise you let your children go to Chief Joe as your first choice when living on base. If you’ve heard a negative story or a rumor about Loy since Kim Ray the principal has been there, it’s more than likely true. She is a sorry excuse for a professional educator in the GFPS district.

Horrific way to start our child's first grade school experience. We live on Malmstrom AFB. My son started Kindergarten at Loy and within the first TWO weeks of the school year we had three, isolated, incidents in which the school LOST my child. The first two were during the first week...my son was pick up on base and "let off" the bus at the WRONG school (initially, a bus issue) but what followed is where the problem started. Days later, my son was, ONCE AGAIN, let off at the wrong school and this time had made it all the way into a classroom before realizing he was not in the right place (he was FIVE, again, NEW SCHOOL, FIRST week in an unfamiliar environment). The crazy thing is that I did not hear about EITHER incident until the FOLLOWING WEEK...and NOT by the principal...not by a member of the Loy staff, but by the Youth center on base!! Needless to say, i was livid! I immediately called the school and set up a meeting with Kim Ray (principal). She repeatedly apologized for not contacting me on EITHER incident and said that she "forgot" not once, but TWICE, to call and notify me. To which i then asked how my son ended up finding his way to Loy from the other school. Come to find out she took it upon herself to authorize the other principal to drive my son, in HIS private vehicle, back to Loy BOTH times...with ZERO parental consent to transport a child. Mind you, this is the PRINCIPAL at Loy who thought this was okay to do. Within the second week, I received a call at work...from the Youth Center on base saying some lady (complete STRANGER) had "noticed" my 5 year old son...ALONE in a field...near a playground...For 44 minutes since school had let out that's day, my son was missing and NOBODY knew about it. Had it not been for a tag on his backpack, God knows how long it would've taken for me to find him. Anyway, I am ashamed to say that the GFPS district allowed Principal Kim Ray to continue to "oversee and care for" the children at Loy for the remainder of the school year.

My kids have been going to Loy since 2010. I love Loy! The teachers that my children have had were all awesome.

Loy needs to work on handling difficult situations. My child had been having trouble with another student and I did not know the severity of it until months later and 2 days before the school year was over which by that time was too late for it to be handled. A conference with both sets of parents should have been arranged right when the problem began so all involved would have a better understanding of everything that was going on. They punished my kid because of hearsay. There were times when they did not actually see the supposed incidents but he would lose recess because someone said he did something. The other child who was bullying my kid was never punished because my son did not want to get him in trouble. My sons self confidence was so low during the school year and we didn't understand why until he finally broke down and told us. Now that his confidence level is back where it should be we will be looking for another school that will keep us more informed. I hate that he had to start his educational life this way. I only want the best for him and Loy was not a good fit for us.
