Overall a great school. Reading another review concerning “political propaganda”, I can say that the individual is probably no longer employed at the school and has a skewed perspective. Human rights are a completely separate issue from any staff member’s political or religious views, and Fruitdale does take supporting all students and their families seriously. It is a public school and public places in this nation should be safe and welcoming for all. Fruitdale Elementary is a diverse and welcoming environment. I agree that the schedule of constantly moving to different small groups is not for all students, and is definitely stressful for the younger grades and the neurodivergent students. The students spend more time with other teachers and instructional assistants than their own teachers. Having the experience of diverse teaching is beneficial but also takes away from the building of class “community”. Safety is sometimes a concern, but is foremost on staff members’ minds. Field trips are almost non-existent and encouraging more families to volunteer could be improved. The best thing about Fruitdale has always been its staff members, most are very loving and dedicated.

Fruitdale Elementary is not a good fit for all students. It is organized in a way that is similar to a middle school, with students constantly rotating between classrooms. This is either a good or bad thing depending on who you ask.The biggest problem is that the school hires some staff members who are not kind, respectful, or patient with students. This creates a hostile and unwelcoming environment for all students attending.Additionally, the school does not have adequate safety measures in place. For example, the Gaga-Ball pit does not have any safety reinforcements, which has resulted in students suffering from extreme injuries on their hands. Administration is well aware of this easy-to-fix problem but have not taken steps to seek remedy. There are also concerns about political propaganda at the school, such as politically related posters on the library hallway windows, along with certain political flags and buttons in some teachers' classrooms. Three Rivers School District has made it clear that its' schools must be politically neutral, but these posters and buttons violate that policy. The one redeeming thing about the school is the special education program. The teacher who runs the program is caring and supportive of the students.Pros:- Low student-teacher ratio- High test score average- Offers extracurricular activitiesCons:- Disrespectful staff (not all, but select individuals)- Inadequate safety features - Political propaganda concerns

I'm an ex-student of this school. I loved it. Very involved school and I wouldn't have traded it for the world.

Both my daughters have been grateful to be part of Fruitdale from kindergarten through 5th grade. Both have expressed they were sad to move on because they loved their teachers and the activities so much. I can say my children have had an excellent elementary experience and are prepared for the next level of education.

Madrona elementary is just as bad. Good luck with the public school system in this county.
