5/10: There are a mix of great teachers and poor teachers. The building itself is outdated with old desks, no AC, large fans that are loud and blow the students' papers around, and a lack of differentiaton for different learners.

This school has many benefits and several disadvantages. This school maintains a very 'small town' school feeling. The principal knows each and every student and parent (or it feels like it), and everyone knows everyone else. His leadership is exceptional. Activities and field trips are numerous, and well planned. Parent involvement is HIGHLY encouraged. Teachers are GENERALLY competent and adept. However, I removed my daughter for the following reasons (and some others). Supervision of the students was inadequate during lunch and recess, and I know students who were physically harmed by other students as a result. Bullying by other students also abounds because of this, or not get involved with complaints due to lack of familiarity.. A couple teachers are known to be inappropriately loud, yelling at the children, and not teaching lesson plans according to accepted levels, instead telling the children of their personal lives in class, and gossiping about students' personal lives to other parents. While the principal backs up his teachers very well, occasionally it is done TOO well, or complaints do not reach him, resulting in no resolution or consequences.

I have 2 children currently at Gloucester Twp Elementary. The school is small so my children get a lot of personal attention. Every teacher my children have had so far has shown that they care very much. My child is in the excel program and they help the kids who would be held back in a normal setting. I also have a special needs child who only went to the school for a short time before we moved him to a school that could better fit his needs. this was the schools only downfall. The school district and the school staff offered little guidance in handling my child's needs. the test scores at this school could be much better but there are many children in the school like my son who should be moved to schools that can better educate them. The school does offer one on one aids that are excellent with the children. The EPC provides many activities for the students, but there are not many parents involved at the meetings. Most of the members have been there for a while and there doesn't seem to be many new members the security is excellent. there are officers at the school all the time and the school has installed cameras and other security measures.

my son loves it.. i want to thank everyone for making education interesting for him. He is in kindergarden and i'm teaching him the time table. He loves learning.
