I used to go here for 5th grade when I was younger when I first move to Texas. This is one of the most awful experiences I ever had to go through. I’m currently a senior and still have ptsd to what I endure during this school. Many kids were out of control, had bad language, and so many bullies. Everyday I was made fun of, cries when I came home and told my parents. No matter how much they told the staff or principle it seems like nothing was done. This was the worst year of school I have ever endure, I don’t recommend you send your child here!

Moved here from Southern Cali last year. I had 1 son in 3rd grade. The school district did something to switch the primary schools around and never really explained it so my 3rd grader was moved from the school right down the street from my home to Frank Moates which took 15 minutes to drive to. The staff seemed to really care about teaching, but many of the students are completely out of control and the staff can't seem to get a hold of the situation. I ended up moving my student to a charter school. I believe Moates has potential and is fine, but I did not want my son to continue spending his days around so many wild and unruly children.

Awful! My child arrived after the school year had already begun and the teachers didn’t even try to include them. Just stuck them in a corner and turned a blind eye to blatant bullying. Grateful to be in a better school district!

Every teacher my son has had, we've actually not had any problems with. His current 4th grade teacher is awesome and always keeps me informed. However, its our experiences with other staff that concerns me. My son has had bullying issues his 3rd grade year (no one helped, they made it worse by telling the entire class not to pick on my son) so now hes known as a tattletale. Then they put him in the same class as the bully his 4th grade year. Classrooms are out of control noise wise. They are so loud and i think it has to do with silent lunches that the school implements. They need to implement silent classrooms not lunchrooms. Thats probably why they talk so much in class because they are getting into trouble at lunch time for talking. Another experience was with the asst princpl who told me she did not have time for me. Literally told me it wasn't her job to help me and that the receptionists could do it. My mind was blown as to how this woman thought it was appropriate to act this way with a parent. I hate to say the entire school is this way when they have many great and caring teachers and staff. The front desk is always so helpful and kind. But the bad ones are so bad that it overpowers the overall experience of the school. I really wish my son was in another school district because I feel like no one cares here! I've even reached out to Desoto ISD and the same, no one cares!

This School is absolutely great, staff are very professional and kind. Great with kids, classes are not over populated. Safety is fantastic. But you will hate pick up at the end of the day traffic is horrific, great part is that teachers walk the students directly to the car. How convenient.

My son attends this school, and I appreciate the teachers keeping me informed about my son's grades, activitie, and special events. This is my son's first year at this school, and I must say,it has been a GREAT pleasure.

I am a foster parent and I have had so much cooperation with the teachers, office staff that I am really please. I know exactly what's happening with both my kids. One is in first grade and the other in kinder. I always ask questions, want to know how they are doing, make weekly phone calls or conference to find out why my son acted up and why I should be concerned of how he is behaving, or how my foster daughter comes home telling me stories or how school went. I ask what they eat everyday and make a phone call te following day to find out why they are serving what they do. By golly, it's the parents school you have put your kids into and left them in their hands, I am goin to do what I need to do to find out what is going in there. And I must say, everyone has cooperated very well, let us know exactly what and why when need be. I must say I am very proud of this school and how my foster kids react to knowing I have a one on one relationship with their teachers to find out anything I need to know. It helps them behave in school.
