I don't agree with this report. Our families experience at Galena Elementary school both before and after the merger with Millington school was very good and I would not hesitate to recommend this school. My 2 older children received an excellent education at GALES and went on to honors classes in their middle school. My youngest child didn't have quite such a good experience, but I would still say that it was very good and this is a great school.

Galena Elementary School is now a combination of what used to be Galena Elementary School and Millington Elementary school as the latter closed at the end of the 2016-17 academic year. The student body is now closer to 360 (rather than the 190 listed here). Class sizes are small and parents, teachers, and staff are all invested in its success. Kent County Public Schools are also the ONLY school system in the area to offer UNIVERSAL, FULL-DAY PREK and Pre-K students at Galena Elementary School are FULLY INTEGRATED into the school, even receiving library, art, music, and gym days like every other grade. As a result, Kent County Public Schools rank NUMBER ONE in the state of Maryland in kindergarten readiness.

Great school and staff. Small class sizes. Offers great opportunities to learn and interact with the unique community.

Small and personal. My daughter settled in almost immediately. All the teachers and staff made us feel welcome straight away and as a mother of 2 grown children who were privately educated I can honestly say I feel more a part of my 5 year olds education than I ever did with my other 2. All the teachers are very approachable and we have an open communication which quite frankly is very refreshing to see these days!
