We have been at Galloway for 6 years now & would never think of going anywhere else. The teachers truly care for the students, the community is tightly bonded, & the academics are far superior to any other school around. The Head of School brings an energy like I’ve never seen. My children are years ahead of their peers academically. I attribute this to the smaller class size & the curriculum going beyond traditional learning. At The Galloway School, learning is not confined to the four walls of a classroom. The curriculum is designed to foster critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving skills. Whether it's through engaging discussions, hands-on experiments, or collaborative projects, students are encouraged to think outside the box and develop a love for lifelong learning.One of the most transformative aspects of The Galloway School is its tight-knit community. The strong bonds formed among students, teachers, and parents create a supportive and nurturing environment. Our children transitioned from another private school into Galloway 2 years ago. The positive energy is palpable as soon as we walked into the school! The focus on academics while still maintaining a “fun” environment for students and families alike puts Galloway in a class of its own!

I hope you have deep pockets because you are going to need them. The principal is constantly asking for parents to contribute. My child doesn't seem to be challenged. Her cousins who go to public school have outperformed her in simple knowledge games and they are younger than she is. I don't mind the expense or the donations, but my child is not academically challenged. I am looking for a different school.

I started teaching at Galloway six years ago. Since then, there has been almost a complete turnover of faculty— there are only two teachers left in the entire teaching staff who were there when I started. The rest are all gone, the vast majority of their own volition. That should tell you all you need to know about the quality of leadership. By far the greatest strength of Galloway has been the quality of the teachers, and when you can’t keep excellent teaching staff (despite their love for their students, who are wonderful), that is an indication of major problems in administration. The teachers are forced to absorb and compensate for the fallout of poor decision making by admin, and that inevitably leads to burnout. Teachers feel unsupported, jerked around, disrespected, and unheard, and it’s nearly impossible for them to provide an optimal education for their students in such circumstances, even with their best efforts. The school board has zero presence in the school, seeks no feedback from teachers or parents on the performance of admin, and does not conduct exit interviews to better understand why teachers choose to leave. They hire principals who look good on paper, but lack the necessary experience and expertise to do the job well. I sincerely hope things turn around soon, because the students and families are amazing, and they deserve so much better.

We have 3 children at Galloway & have been there since Preschool. There are so many amazing things about this school. They have two incredible STEM labs, but also include STEM in all subjects too! The small class size has been important to us also. We have one child who is gifted & he thrives in this environment as he is challenged and not held back. One of the other important values of the school is the Christian teachings. Christian values are taught daily and weaved into the curriculum. The new head of school has been a true blessing & the teachers are extremely talented, highly qualified and absolutely loving! The students started coding this year & they have had a blast learning it! Plus, their Robotics team is incredible! As for the bullying factor... our oldest son was picked on by another student, we were assured it would be dealt with in a proper manner & I was very pleased with how the principal handled the situation. Other than that one instance, none of my other children have had to deal with bullying - I think the loving, Christian environment has helped prevent that.We could not be happier with the school and will recommend it to anyone we can.

The principal who took over shortly after the start of the 2020-2021 school year is decimating the (formerly excellent) program. Yes, there will be two STEM labs next year, but the classroom teachers will be expected to somehow find the time to plan for and teach STEM. In years past, STEM has been a standalone program taught by an amazing and highly knowledgeable teacher. She also ran the science fair and taught the GT students, in addition to creating chapel lessons. Who will do that next year? The school formerly had choir and drama programs that have suddenly disappeared. My kids loved participating in the drama programs. I have been told there will not be an art program next year, either, but that will also be up to the classroom teachers to teach. There has been an excellent standalone art program for as long as we have been at Galloway. Where are all these programs going? How are the classroom teachers supposed to manage teaching all these extra subjects? Will there be any electives at all? We have been happy at Galloway for several years, despite having some issues with the previous principal, because the quality of the teaching and programs has been so high. The school seems to be in a downward spiral, which is very concerning. We are hesitant to move our kids out of a school they have loved, but there doesn’t seem to be much reason to stay at this point.

As a parent of three children who will be leaving The Galloway School, I want to warn potential incoming families. This school is listed as a Christian school. This school is listed as a STEM school. This school says it has a zero bullying tolerance.Under the new head of schoolThe “Christian” experience is a once a week watch a video of Christian songs and students reading off of a 5 line script. The beloved STEM lead teacher is retiring. And the students are losing all their favorite teachers. The head of school promises two new STEM classrooms, but no promises of STEM teachers. As far as bullying, the head of school says all the right things in meetings about it, but come to find out she does nothing. The head of school promises coding... who is going to teach all this coding? Probably, a parent volunteer. This new head of school relies on parents to do too much.We loved the old Galloway, not this jargon heavy version.

Healthy and nurturing environment. Strong curriculum. Our family has been at the Galloway School for more than 7 years now. Our children have grown to become stable, healthy and smart kids. The transition to the public school district when older was smooth and straight to the GT programs. I am very pleased with the way they have manage the current pandemic situation. Everything transitioned smoothly and the kids did not miss any learning in the process.

Galloway used to be a great demanding school, now it is demanding donations, and students are only valued in terms of tuition payment. Our last year was terrible and a waste of time and money.

The new principal took a wonderful school with an accelerated curriculum and talented staff and has ruined it -- all of it. Many of the children dont even enjoy going to school anymore.

In the summer of 2016 the board of trustees hired a new principal. She is a former public school principal and immediately set out to shut parents our of the school. All PTO meetings are now in the morning, so if you work, you are not included in the meetings. The new principal immediately replaced all the staff with her own team and is working to do the same with the teachers. Some of the programs that had been offered previously are no longer included in the curriculum (world studies and writing academy are just two examples). Why pay to attend what is rapidly becoming a public school? This year is the last one when the remnants of the old Galloway School are still in place. Next year the school will be unrecognizable and useless.

We pulled our 3rd grade daughter from a very good school district to attend The Galloway School. We could not be more thrilled after 3 months. The curriculum engages our daughter who excels in mathematics and the new programs the school rolled out this year are amazing, providing the kids with diversity in learning in global education. The transition for our daughter into a new school mid-year was smooth with the classmates very inclusive attitudes. The hard work, dedication and focus of our daughter s teachers is very evident (separate teachers for Math/Science, English/Social Studies, Global Ed, Language, Writing, STEM, etc.) and there is a real family feel amongst the staff and its students. The Head of School listens to parents and is energetic with the ongoing improvements any school requires to keep up with today modern society and challenges.

Out with the old, in with the new! This school has had an overhaul since last year. New administration, some new teachers, new floors, new paint everything has changed for the better!

The Galloway School is one of a kind! I have taught in other states as well as in TX and find it to be a very special place to work. The children are excited about attending each day. The staff is dedicated educating and nurturing all of the students. It is a privilege to be a part of The Galloway School.

I love that my class only has 10 kids. I can really focus on each child and challenge them to their best abilities. I get to know my kiddos really well and I believe this creates a safe and inviting environment for each student so they can excel in all aspects of their learning.

It speaks volumes that Galloway chose to have a Science Technology Engineering Mathematics laboratory for children s young as 4 years of age. The Next Generation Science Standards are not yet the norm in public elementary schools.

I love the diversity this school offers!! Galloway is a small Christian school that allows and actually encourages free thinking and acquisition of knowledgable inquiry. My child has developed academic habits of mind to serve him for years to come. Many different nationalities are represented here and the community outreach and service projects are meaningful...from making beads for potable water in Africa to volunteering at the Houston Food Bank, this small school is BIG on heart!!!
