    French Settlement Elementary is a very family oriented school with a loving atmosphere in which the students safety are always put first. This school has a dedicated staff and teachers just waiting to teach the students everything they can to be successful students. I have one child who dyslexia, one child with ADD, and one child with CF and each one of my children received the services they needed to be successful. They are all at the high school making wonderful grades. What other school will you see the Principal and Assistant Principal serving lunch to the students in the lunch room or see a janitor console a student after being hurt on the playground. This is truly a French Settlement School family. It is no surprise that school is a National Blue Ribbon School. This honor that the school received speaks for itself. I would highly recommend this school to anyone looking for an elementary school for their child.

    This school is amazing! The school environment is safe and the staff is positive. The students are very well behaved and feel surrounded by love. This school is a National Blue Ribbon school. This alone should be enough to recommend this school to anyone. No other elementary school in this parish, that I know of, has achieved this honor.

    I am very upset with the principle and teachers of this school. They do not do well with any type of bullying and my kids are always getting notes about stupid things. If it is something that I should be concerned with, then I can understand the note but not the little things that only annoy the teacher. Neither of my children are on medication, my choice, but yet the school insists on them being put on it. They do not take the time to understand the child's needs. Each child is different.

    My grandchildren just started at FSE. I am very satisfied thus far with the school. I do see that some parents have complaints, but believe me if their children or grandchildren had to endure some of the things that mine had to while attending another school within the parish they would think twice Keep up the good work FSE

    My only problem with this school and I guess the entire district is the requirement to have a Dr.s note for any little thing. My son was once sent home because he was coughing. I took him to the dr and there was nothing wrong with him. Now this time his allergies have flared up and I forgot to get a dr.s note. He doesn't have anything contagious but they won't let him back in school. I think this policy is insane and undermines parents. You can't expect someone to go to the dr for every little thing! Who ever made this policy must have some great health insurance!

    My daughters are always getting little notes home for something so crazy for talking in line are talking in the lunchroom, I mean they are in kindergarten an first . I think the teachers need to have more patience an .One of my daughters has adhd an they dont understand that u need to be more willing to have more patience ...
