Great school! Teachers are excellent at differentiating their instruction to suit all learners and levels, Starting at a young age. .

My son came from another school district and when he began Rocky Run they were 2 grade levels below in learning from the other school. The teachers are overworked, classroom sizes are large, and students are way behind their peers. The principal does not take bullying issues seriously.

This school proved to be an extremely bad decision for locating my olderst child. The teachers in K - 2nd grade, while extremely friendly, provided to be under skilled when it came to actually teaching common skills needed for children to learn basic concepts of Math and Reading. In the 3rd grade we reached our limit with the school due an extremel trying year. The teacher used intimidation and bullying tactics towards my child when it came to correcting "alleged playground activities." Alleged because upon questioning her she said she hadn't verified any of the incident with my child, yet chose to listen to the other child who complained about my kid. Upon confronting my child I questioned the teachers frame of mind to which she answered "Your child isn't as smart as the other child and thats probably why the incident occured." As stated earlier academics proved a hard goal for the school to cope with, I spent some time with the teachers at the school providing input into how the "Number Theory" was an inadequate method for the children and showed how the kids getting "Right" answers were doing so for the wrong reasons and I was able to show how that could have negative cascading effects as the children progressed in school. Being that I have 2 more children entering elementary school I pulled by 3rd grader and due to zoning and transportation put all 3 in private school for the remainder of elementary school. From the experience my family encountered, I don't suggest enrolling at this school.

I did not care for this school. We were a military family moving towards the end of the school year which is already a hectic time, but the classroom my son was placed in seemed to be segregated...all the "trouble" kids on one side of the room at individual desks while all the "good" children got to sit together at tables. Kinda funny how all the "trouble" children were Black. I pulled my son immediately after the school year ended and I homeschool him now. Don't have time for that type of foolishness.

My twins are in 3rd grade now, and we love RRES! I have been very pleased with the quality of their educational experience. All of their teachers have been excellent!!

Rocky run is a great school! The teachers and staff are caring and strive for the best education for the kids. The PTO is very involved and have many activities through the year. There are also some extra activities for children before/after school like run club, ukulele, speedstacks, etc.

I've had four children attend Rocky Run. My youngest is now in 5th. We'll be sorry to leave. Staff have been great and the addition of new administration is a huge plus.

I have 2 children attending here and soon to have a 3rd entering Kindergarten. I love this school and its staff. The teachers are wonderful and many have their own children here because they believe in this school. I also volunteer here and find it very rewarding. Anyone who complains about this place goes off hearsay and should get involved. Volunteers are always welcomed here and at the active PTO.

My eldest child was enrolled at Rocky Run in 2011, and at this point (2015) all 3 of my children are students there. While there have been issues through out the years, it was never anything serious and they were always resolved. My youngest has the same teacher my older two had, and I'm thrilled with the results. There is also a new principal (as of 2014), and he has done some very good work. I was incredibly unhappy with the old principal, but the new one is wonderful. There is also minimal turnover for teachers. Teachers do tend to move around within the school, however. My son's 2nd grade teacher moved up to 3rd grade with the kids, which has been exceptionally wonderful. The only downside that I've found is that the class sizes have gotten larger over the years. My kids have 24 (K), 26 (3rd), and 30 (4th). Overall, though, this is a very good school, and my children are lucky that they're there!

All of my kids have gone to rocky run, my older kids are now in the high school near by but my youngest just finished kindergarten and I was so happy that they put him in the same class as my daughter had when she was in kindergarten 9 years ago, same teacher, they have always gone above and beyond. You will be happy with this school

Both of our children attended Rocky Run K-5 and received an excellent education! They went on to middle school well-prepared for taking advanced level courses. Their teachers challenged and encouraged them in so many ways. The entire staff is caring and exceptionally dedicated to helping all students succeed. We couldn't have asked for a better elementary school! Thank you, Rocky Run!

My daughter has had a great experience at Rocky Run Elementary. I have volunteered for their Field Day's over the past few years. The school is located in a very safe, community oriented neighborhood. My family has lived in Stafford Lakes Village for the past 5 years and my daughter has gone to Rocky Run for the past 4 years. She made lots of friends and is excited to start her last year at Rocky Run in a few weeks!

All three of my kids have attended Rocky Run and our experiences have been nothing but positive. We had moved out of the county for a few years and my kids wen't briefly to another school where we all had a very bad experience so it's so nice to be back to Rocky Run!

I have had three children at Rocky Run. We have had nothing but a positive experience with teachers and admin. I have volunteered in all my children's classes and know first-hand what goes on in their classrooms. I encourage those who can in any school to do that.

I have many years of experience with schools and Rocky Run is the worst elementary school I've ever been in. The teachers are not trained to deal with the behavior issues of the student body. Most of the teachers seem to only be there to get through the day and collect their check. The lack of discipline negatively impacts the learning environment. The principal does not demand that the teachers maintain control over their students. I'm planning to remove my children from this school and home school them. I can't think of one thing I like about this school other than one previous teacher that really put her heart into teaching her students. The school needs to train their teachers to handle the children that they are working with.

We moved to this area 5 month ago from being overseas at a Dodea school. Rocky Run has not only been a wonderful school to move into but a much need benefit for my youngest son. From the principal, asst principal, front office staff to each of the teachers both of my sons encounter on a daily basis are amazing. Each is very warm and caring towards the children but also very friendly to myself as a parent. They put the needs of the children first. I could not be happier with our decision to ignore so negative comments and make the choice of sending the children here.

As a parent and educator, I feel I can make the informed statement that this school is staffed and led by professionals who care for children and use research-based strategies, as well as love, to nurture the academic, social, and emotional growth of students. Having taught and had my own children enrolled in various schools throughout the country, I am impressed with the school's ability to address the needs of students with specials education requirements and military families, all while embracing and celebrating diversity. Staff and administration are involved, visible, and responsive. Students are treated with respect and held to high standards. The PTO is involved, positive, and does so much to provide and positive experience for families, as well as assist financially on special projects. My own child attends Rocky Run and I would recommend this school to others moving to the area.

My son is new to Rocky Run this year and has had an amazing experience. The staff has been welcoming to him as a new student and to me as a parent. I am very impressed with all that the PTO does to support the school - a lot of fun activities! The administration has been visible and has such a refreshingly positive attitude. The staff is incredibly caring and creative. What a great school!!!

Rocky Run Elementary School has been an outstanding educational experience for both of my children. My oldest daughter attended there from K through 5th grade and I couldn't have been more pleased with all of her teacher's teaching abilities, school nurse, office staff, and the leadership. She also had several food allergies, as well as asthma, and they were very accommodating. The teachers are greatly concerned with the developmental well-being of all the children. My youngest daughter is currently in 4th grade and has been a student there since Kindergarten. The new leadership of Mr. Roman and Mrs. Jones is outstanding. My daughter is excelling in all aspects of her schooling. The staff is also very parent-friendly and encourages team effort for the children's education. I highly recommend this school to anybody who is moving into this area.

This school is the worst that I ever encountered. The teachers used intimidation and bullying tactics towards the children. I was a prior school teacher. From the horrific experience that my child and I have encountered, I personally don't suggest anyone to enroll their love ones in this school. The Front desk employees has the worst customer service. The teachers does not have the knowledge to deal with special needs, Bi-lingual, diverse and military community. But yet, every year they want the military families to complete their subsidy forms every year to benefit themselves not the children. They also allow humiliations and corporal punishment towards the children. Tried informing management, but they tend to listen in deaf ears. Why should they, the cause of the negative actions are coming from higher up.
