My nephew had nothing but issues at this school. The children at this school are taught favoritism at a young age. If your child has the right color, ethnicity, or come from money, then you are top on the list. If they are not, then don’t expect for your child to grow and flourish. They will be cast aside as an outcast in this yuppie village of snobs. Be prepared for lots of tears, bullying, and an administration that could care less about your child, unless of course they like you.

Moved from DC where my little one was in one of the better charter schools. All I can say is that UES is so much better than likely any school in the entire city. It proves that throwing money and classroom size out as an excuse for poor performance is just smoke and mirrors. In DC they pay $29,000 per pupil and class size was about 22. At UES they have about 26 per class and spend $13,000 per pupil. Yet their test scores are far higher then the best school in all of DC. The teachers and staff are great. They are really part of the community, not just transplants that are here for experience. My child has jumped in reading ability substantially in the first 2 months at UES. I am proud of UES and what they do for our kids. The teachers are great and will continue to have my families respect and support.

My son has gone to this school since Pre-k. It has been a wonderful experience. The teachers, guidance counselor, and principal are outstanding. Any issue I have had big or small was addressed immediately and professionally. I can't say enough good things about them.

My school is Urbana Elementary School (UES). Our daughter started UES in Kindergarten, just finished first grade last June and is now in second grade. I have to commend the teachers of this school, I have never before experienced such professional and interpersonal teachers. Every teacher that my daughter has had has been exceptional in instruction, in classroom management, homework, and really teaching her to be proud of her school experience. She loves going to school everyday.

We started at UES when my oldest son was in 2nd grade and my 2nd son in Kindergarten. We have been there for 2 years and we love it! When we first moved to Urbana I was disappointed that our home wasn't in Centerville Elem.'s area, because it is new and Urbana is very old and badly needs renovations. But we had LOVED UES in spite of it's appearance. I have found it much easier to get involved as a volunteer than in previous schools. My son loved his experience in the history bee that they hosted a club for. My boys have both been well challenged in their strengths. I've really liked all the teachers they've had. They PTA and staff host wonderful events to make you connected to the school. We really feel like the quality of education and the feeling of community cannot be beaten.

Wonderful school, the teaching and administration is top notch. Could not ask for a better school for my child to be receiving her elementary education.
