The teachers and administration maintain strong communication with me regarding my daughter's learning. We are entering our third year with the school and the growth she has shown as a 5 year old is remarkable. We love the school community and it's involvement with the city and neighborhoods.

I have had my 3 kids at Capital Day School for the last 3 years and coming into our 4th year. I absolutely love the small classes and the hands on work with the students. I would definitely recommend Capital Day School.

My son has been at Capital Day School since first grade. He is starting eighth this year. The advanced education that he has received is astounding. With small class sizes, any issues that he has faced have been handled so patiently and expertly. I could not be happier with the education that he has received from this school.

Our grandson has attended CDS since pre-K 3. Our experience there has been amazing. The small classrooms are great, allowing the teachers to give more hands on training. We love seeing the presentations the students do and attending the events they have for families. The education and experience the kids receive helps them grow and prepare them for high school.

My daughter is in middle school and has attended since she was in preschool. The project-based learning, small class size, and individualized instruction are beyond compare. We are so pleased with this school!

Capital Day School is amazing. The staff are always attentive and create a family environment for children and parents alike. The education and maturity that that instill in their students is remarkable.

Our experience at CDS is unparalleled - we cannot stress enough how much our time at the school has encouraged and supported our son academically, emotionally, socially, and physically. We marvel almost daily about how incredible the school is for all students, regardless of academic ability, social differences, and background.

Without a doubt the best investment you can make for your children! This school grows strong independent learners who quickly learn to excel in reading, writing, science and mathematics just to name a few. Public Speaking...oh yes. All of these kids from Pre K - 8th grade truly knock Public Speaking out of the park. Each year and with each class my wife and I look forward to hearing all their presentations. It just amazes us how poised and confident all the students sound during their presentations. My oldest is starting High School in College Spanish, Music and Algebra II as a 9th grader. No other school in this area prepares their students to succeed like Capital Day School! Again by far the best investment for your child.

The Montessori program at Capital Day School is exceptional. I would highly recommend parents visit and see for themselves!

Excellent education for both of my children. The teachers put their heart and time into each student.

It was great when my child was in the lower school, but as my child got older, things changed. This has a lot to do with the current social and political climate at the school, which has changed substantially in the last couple of years.

My child has attended Capital Day for the past two years in Frankfort's only Montessori program and enjoys his time there and the things he learns thoroughly. I was just happy that he had become comfortable in a school setting and had made new friends but when I found out that he could spell words and was starting to read, I was beyond floored! If your child goes to Capital Day they will undoubtedly learn things, but more importantly they will begin to grow as independent thinkers and doers. I am grateful to Capital Day for helping my child to find his own light that will help him find his way in the world.

Capital Day School is excellent for students who benefit from/appreciate personalized instruction. The independence from government and parochial standards allows students and teachers to freely explore, study, debate, and play. The atmosphere on campus encourages independence, personal responsibility, and fun!

As the parent of a recent graduate I have to say that Capital Day is a dying school. A few years ago there was a large turnover in the teaching staff resulting in the loss of good teachers. Just this past year the same has happened. Their funding is lacking and while they do the best with what they have it's not enough. If faced with the possibility of putting my child in this school now I would look elsewhere. If there is not a dramatic change this school will not be able to keep its doors open.Lack of funding is its overall problem but it also suffers from being a small campus with old buildings and no green space. Sports on campus are non existent -practices are held at other local schools. There is no nurse, just a school secretary who hands out peppermints. There is only one administrator, the head of school (who is brand new this year), and teachers fill in other administrative rolls. Even the Board of Trustee positions are filled with parents and they don't even have enough volunteers to fill all the positions. If you are seriously considering this private school for your child take a long look and ask some serious questions about the running and future of this school. Don't be swayed by the trophy case, most of them are from years past. And don't worry about entrance exam - unless your child has serious issues they will get in because they desperately need your tuition money.

My son attended Capital Day School, and had a remarkable experience. After firth attending public school, CDS brought him out of his shell and he became vibrant and alive! Capital Day School's small teacher to student ratio, caring staff members, attention to academic excellence, and opportunities for extracurricular involvement all contributed to his success! Capital Day School will give your child the individualized education they deserve!

There is more concentrated effort, but the school is behind the times with languages, drama, music, art. German is preferred as a scientific language and has been for about 100 years. Spanish is useless globally as the language of business is English and Chinese. Drama, art is useless for a child's future and can be leaned by one class every 2 weeks. There is insufficient focus on computers, IT, software, programming - only one teacher. All students should have a lap top and use in school for all classes. By dealing with passe fine arts and limiting focus on the future: math, science, technology; languages: Chinese, German, Russian, Arabic the school is living in the past. When was the last time you heard French being spoken. When you attended a business meeting in Mexico the business was conducted in English, just like Chile, Costa Rica, Argentina, etc. Parents need to think in a world view and that is clearly not apparent by the reviews. Compared to the average Ky school Capital is superior. It just needs updating and modernization and focus on a global perspective.

Capital Day School is the school for your children if you want a quality education. This school has excellent teachers and caring staff members. With a low student to teacher ratio, your child with enjoy a challenging curriculum with the focus on being educated, not just passing tests. Capital Day School offers not only core classes, but enrichment classes such as Art, P.E., Technology and Music - they even still have recess. Your child will be well prepared to take advanced classes once graduating from CDS. From preschool age 3 to 8th grade, you will want to keep your child at Capital Day.
