This school is just a gamble because some of the teachers there will be so mean and hate you and try to fail them ou while other teachers are actually doing there job and helping you so it’s just a gamble whether you get the good teachers are the bad teachers

When I started at Sage, in kindergarten, I was super nervous that I wouldn't make any friends, but I did. The Sage community is extremely welcoming. There are so many adults that I look up to and see as great role models. I have many great friends, and although some of them have left Sage, the school helps us create a strong bond during our time here, so that we stay in touch later on. The teachers here car a lot about our well being, but also make sure that we are learning appropriately. There are many amazing teachers here, including the humanities teachers, arts teachers, language teachers and more. This school has a very supportive community and everyone strives to be their best selves and help others get better. There are also many extracurriculars at this school, including a strong Model UN group, which just finished up, an amazing musical club in the beginning of the year, and the chess club, which many students look forward to. This school has a very strong arts program, including a yearbook class, a lot of music, and Sage's very own play. Students are very advanced with math and english, already starting on high school topics in as early as 6th grade. I feel that the sense of community at this school is very apparent and everyone strives to be a better person. I have really enjoyed my time here at Sage and hope that others will too.

I started at Sage in 5th grade, and I'm currently int he 8th grade, graduating this summer. Sage has been a great place to accommodate your level in learning, especially in math. Many of my current teachers are amazing, including, history, English, and math. Although the community is small, it is a robust environment where you can learn, be creative, and curious. Sage has many excellent clubs including Math Counts, the Musical, and especially Model UN. The Upper School (grades 5-8), have a trip every year to a variety of different places. 5th and 6th grade go to a summer camp of sorts and they community build and bond while the 7th and 8th graders go on a week-long trip to learn more about culture in different places. These trips are so much fun, and I love learning in unusual environments with my peers. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time here, I would recommend it to anyone who is naturally curious, and at an academic level where it is hard to find challenges, because Sage can definitely provide it.

Honestly, some parts of this school are exceptional. The math is good, some clubs are good. But the administration really needs to get better about some of the teachers here. Many of the teachers are really slacking, sexist, and hypocritical. I just feel like this school is just for money-making. For safety, there have been many incidents when my children were at Sage, and I am questioning the administrations capabilities.

If you have a kind shy and good hearted child beware. Some kids that attend are very entitled children, aggressive and very mean. Had two incidents where two different kids hit my daughter. Both issues were addressed with staff but my child no longer wants to attend. After how the first incident was handled I was sure there would be more. I was right I’m not the parent that tells my child to hit back. I’ve taught her boundaries and to keep her hands to herself. Just wish other parents would do the same and if they do NOT at the very least the staff should monitor closely what these kids are doing and saying to others. Bully’s change a child’s view on school and affect their self esteem. I really wanted this to be a good experience for her.

We are so in love with the school. Each year we have had a better experience than the year before. Just when you think it can’t get better, it does. My little person has found their people. We could tell right away that Sage was different and exactly what we needed. The teachers are kind and caring, attentive to the kids needs. This year parents had more opportunities to be involved and visit the classroom - it was great seeing the classroom dynamic and watching them interact. We love that they meet the kids where they are at, and keep encouraging them forward. Compared to public school in math we are a grade ahead, reading two-three grades ahead. The public school said the other kids will catch up to them, Sage said they will keep feeding into their interests and expand on it.Their social skills curriculum is one of the best, college students use it. Highly recommended by our ABA. We get frequent updates throughout the day showing what they are learning so we can ask about it at home or continue with it at home. Small classroom sizes although one grade I’m surprised they haven’t divided the class, it’s larger than what I imagine their normal classroom sizes to be.

I’m not sure what the prior review was speaking to but I believe it was a specific parent that has had issues in other areas as well (based on the review she wrote). This school has been wonderful. The class sizes are small and teachers are willing to go above and beyond. The school counselor has been amazing and thorough- also helped out kids through some obstacles. My kids come home asking me questions about subjects and topics the learned and it blows my mind how much they are able to passionately discuss the topic.

Hopeless school. School staff is rude. No process of welcoming students. Kids gets stressed after going to school because of bullying issues. School counselor is useless. Head of the school is rude . VERY BAD COMMUNICATION. LOT OF BULLYING IN SCHOOL . This school is just money making business. Not worth spending this much money.Director of admission also created high hopes but it was not the same as it was discussed during the admissions time. They are very good in selling but do not have capabilities . Public schools are much better in communication and teaching than this one. Head of the school and Principal portray really high hopes in beginning but it's all useless. When we asked for help then they told us to go for extra coaching outside the school. WE WILL NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL TO ANYONE.

Great place for gifted kids to find their tribe, especially if they have an artsy streak.

My 2 children attended Sage from elementary school through 8th grade (2013-2020). We initially looked to Sage in hopes of finding a more appropriate peer group for a highly verbal, chemistry-obsessed 8-year old and a precocious reader bored in a typical first grade classroom. What we found at Sage were passionate teachers who engaged our children in an appropriately challenging curriculum among like-minded peers and a 'culture of kindness.' Academic challenge was balanced by a strong arts program and support for the social-emotional growth of each child. Our kids graduated from Sage extremely well prepared for secondary school. One has continued to seek out the type of academic rigor and intellectual exploration that they were first exposed to at Sage. The other focuses more on creative pursuits in music and the theater, having gained confidence and skill through chorus, dance, and theater productions at Sage.

The Sage School has been a transformative experience for both of our kids who attend, and therefore our whole family. We came to Sage seeking academic challenge, appropriate scaffolding, and the social/emotional development that our accelerated learners needed.  We are now in our sixth year at the school and our children are thriving.  Their love of learning has flourished, their capacity to take risks and handle challenging situations has dramatically increased, and most importantly they have developed close friendships that they cherish. The dedicated, compassionate faculty and staff at Sage are second to none, and truly know and love each child.

Just be willing to keep your mouth shut. If you do that, you won't have any problems. Your child will get a fair education, not the best and not the worst.Don't question anything.

The Sage School is a great environment to help children develop and attain their potential. I am a parent of a current Sage student who has been at the school for 7 years. Sage has a rigorous academic curriculum, a school environment designed to develop students to be successful in different walks of life and a faculty that is thoughtful and adaptive. The focus of the school is to develop the curious mind and bring the best out of the natural gifts of every child. In 2020, Sage set an example for being responsive and adaptable. Through the summer months, the Head of School, faculty and staff worked hard to re orient the up coming 2020 -21 school year. They were able to re start, in person, the new academic year, maintaining the School's rigorous standards along with the necessary safety precautions. As a small independent school, Sage personifies a close and nurturing community that helps students and their families celebrate their children's academic talents while also providing them the challenge they need to meet their potential.

When our child was accepted to Sage it felt like we got a Hogwarts letter. We were so happy and, like others, ignored many warning signs related to the curriculum and instructional culture during the first year. Ultimately, we found an inflexible instructional approach that was poorly suited to our child's learning and a school culture that rejects any semblance of a school-family partnership.Sage does not encourage parents to play an active role in their child's learning beyond contributing financially to the school. Very little work comes home for parents to see and what does come home, in kindergarten and first grade, can largely be categorized as worksheets printed from Teachers Pay Teachers or coloring pages. Parents are actively discouraged/prevented from providing support to their children at home in areas that they may be struggling. Communication about what is being covered in the curriculum is infrequent and insufficient to keep parents informed. Sage may be the right place for your child if your approach to your child's education is very hands off, your child is adept at using computer technology before starting kindergarten, your child prioritizes speed over quality in their school work, you have very deep pockets, and you are comfortable with high levels of technology use.

Disappointing. Like so many parents with really bright child, I was almost desperate to find the right school. That need made me see things with rose-colored glasses for the 1st year. Slowly but surely, like so many parents warned me, I started to see what the school is really. I wish we never went to Sage.

This school. I agree that the lack of appropriate curriculum for our gifted kids is widespread. In theory, having a school to academically suit these children is a wonderful concept. We put up with the MANY negative aspects of this school so that our child would be properly challenged. At some point though you have to look at the fact that this is your child’s life experience and how they view the world, their place in it and their ability to build healthy relationships trumps this one academic element that the school USED to get right. Negative aspects of this school:1. children with behavioral issues that seriously detract from learning and get the lions share of teachers attention.2. Extreme, obvious favoritism for select families which extends to the classroom leading to children questioning if there is equality in the world (these are smart kids, they don’t miss this).3. HIGH teacher turnover (wonder why?)4. Even higher student turn over. Your kid will make and lose multiple best friends while attending this school. 5. EXTREME liberal rhetoric which is provided at an ADULT level leading to bullying of kids with Republican parents.6. Multiple kids with drug issues/cutting issues because of the pressure to get into a good school. Not because that is what they want but because the school doesn’t enforce the students privacy during the application process leading to kids being looked down upon if they do not get a fantastic acceptance.7. A side effect of the high student/teacher turn over is that your child may learn the same thing THREE times because the new kid is behind...8. Social bullying is not shut down. Some kids are very lonely there.9. Rampant competition leading to MORE of #6 above.10. Math curriculum almost entirely structured as an online program. Very little human interaction during math!! Leading to kids “racing” each other through the curriculum. A real race to no where. There are some lovely teachers here, truly. Although the majority of them have left some are still there trying to offset the direction this school has taken. They are just not enough to offset all the issues. It is a life changing experience alright, all in the name of advanced curriculum. I think there are other ways to keep our kiddos stimulated while not exposing them to all of this, don’t you?

Sage is a special place. Regrettably, we moved from Massachusetts. Finding a new school that was as progressive and academically advanced as Sage proved to be very difficult. Sage showed us how children should be educated, especially those individuals who just don't fit the standardized-grade-level-curriculum mold. Sage leads in just how different learning can (and should!) be. It was amazing to see our child excited to go to school to learn, be respected for his contributions, and have a great time while doing it.

Be aware of the facade in administration. If it's too good to be true... it is.

My oldest started in public school in a town with an excellent public school system. He is advanced and eager to learn, and the school was great but not quite set up to be able to cater to individual needs in an all-round manner. We happened upon a Sage open house late in spring while seeking alternate options, and we were so moved by their thoughtful and dedicated approach in challenging each child and meeting them where they are, as well as teaching each child to be a kind, socially aware, intellectually curious, driven, selfless citizen of the school community and the global community at large. He enrolled there for the next fall, and our other 3 children followed suit. All four are now at Sage. Despite the school being more than 25 miles away from our home, we never have to worry that they are not getting what they need to be the best they can be, in terms of integrity, kindness, honesty, and intellectual capacity, which makes it all worth it.

As a student who has been going to the Sage School for 3 years now all I can say is how amazing this school is. When I first came to Sage everybody was so kind and it immediately felt like family. From this, there is such a positive learning space where bright children from Pre-K to 8th grade can build themselves to become someone in the world that will make a difference and make the world a better place. I love the Sage with all my heart and if you are looking for a wonderful place where you will know your child/ children will thrive intellectually and physically The Sage School is the place to go.-Isabella
