My experience with this school for the past two years, is academically excellent. My daughter loved her teachers and friends at school. However, we are moving to another area of Crowley. I give the school 4 stars because I highly agree that the school does not know how to deal with bullying (experienced this with my grandchildren who came from out of state. Nor did the school do well with emotional support. None-the-less, teachers are there to teach and WITH parental support, bullying, emotional support, and academics will depend on home support. Raising a child and the success of your student STARTS AT HOME.

Teachers scapegoating by getting children tested for diabilities instead of putting in the work to and being accountable for their classrooms environment. Teachers punishing the class as a whole instead of addressing issues with individual students. Poor communication on homework, upcoming tests and cirriculum. Teachers don't respond to emails when you have concerns about your child. Teachers don't respond to text messages when you raise concerns about your child. Teachers don't answer their desk phone or return voicemails. Office staff do not care about your concerns. School nurse and nurse assistants do not communicate potential concerns about your child's visits to the nurse office. Office staff and teachers do not commuinicate with each other about after school programs and often misplace or lose your children in the school. Office staff do not provice resources on how to address concerns and do not assist getting ahold of teachers. Even speaking to teachers directly in person, in the office with multiple other staff to witness they still will fail to follow their own processes. Zero support for children who actually do have disabilities. In my 4 years with multiple children attending the school only 2 out of 12 teachers were good, and 1 out of 8 office staff actually cared. School does not deal with bullying appropriately. The teachers that are good teachers are not given the power they need to act on bullying appropriately.

The teachers are WONDERFUL but they simply don't not get support from leadership. Leadership has a very laid back approach towards everything and unfortunately with the class sizes this can't be allowed.

Awful we moved in March just to get out of the district. It was the only way to protect my son. Then the lady in the front was rude about that. She thinks she is in charge and walks around as if she cant be bothered by anyone and she is so much better than everyone. But my sons teachers were amazing they loved him and helped him so so much.

My daughter learned so much in her Kindergarten class. I look forward to seeing how she does this year for first grade. Her teacher was a great communicator and she was very nice.

My son goes to this school in KG and he has come a long way specially when English is not his first language. It is evident the school has diverse culture. I will highly appreciate if you ponder upon communication skill in such diverse culture as diversity is power. I will also look forward to 2018!

Our daughter is in the two-way dual language program and we have had a great experience there. We look forward to starting our son at Oakmont in 2018!

The entire school lacks diversity in its faculty members and could use extensive training in cultural competence. The administrative staff is bias in their actions towards people of color. They display stereotypical views on my opinion and I can't wait to to the end of this school year to get my son out of this school. They treated my 1st grader like a criminal in the making.

My daughter has been here since March of her kindergarten year. She is now 3rd grade, and she and I love the school equally. Yes, the prior front office staff was a bit rude, but they are both gone (as of 2015-16) and the new ladies are very cordial and professional. I only had an incident with her initial 1st grade teach a couple of years ago, but the vice principal had me and the teacher in a conference, and corrected the situation immediately...she changed her to another teacher's class...and all has been well every since. Children will be children, as far as the comments about children being bullied, my daughter too has had to deal with some not so nice children, but at the end of the day, it is up to us parents to teach our children to stick up for themselves...(even if that means hitting back in my opinion) because there are adult bullies in working environments as well; so they have to learn. Also it helps to be involved, don't just drop your children off everyday, and expect the school to teach your child everything! Learning begins at home and should continue at home after school hours...show your face from time to time during the day. As a very involved, interactive mom, I HIGHLY recommend this school, and I sort of hate that they don't go all the way to 5th grade. B. Strong

my daughter ist grade teacher quit at the first semester , got a new teacher that didnt care and had favors of students and fidnt punish kids for bullying in a timely manner thanks to that new teacher

My son studies in this school. I m very much impressed with the teacher and principal as they take care of the students very well. I would highly recommend this school.

My child does not attend Oakmont Elementary and will NOT attend Oakmont Elementary. I went in to get more information about the school, the Pre K and the academic of the school. The front office clerk was very rude and wasn't help at all. She mentioned "you can get all the information you need from the Crowley ISD website." I guess I was being a burden with all of my question about the school SHE worked at. Customer service is everything to me and if I don't feel comfortable or welcome you will never get my business or recommendation.

Oakmont Elementary is a great school to attend, I recommend this school highly. Safe neighborhood, great teachers, A+ crossing guards.

My son attended kindergarten at this school and had a terrible experience. This school came highly recommended by a local private school; however, based on our personal experience, I cannot support this recommendation. The school seems plagued by overcrowding, lack of communication, and a general lack of support from the homeowners in the area. The administration also appears to have a general sense of the community and it's inhabitants which may not be accurate (low income, lack of involvement). My son's self confidence suffered immensely and I can truly state he learned nothing. His teacher seemed overwhelmed and disenfranchised. I do feel that the school principals were exceptional and extremely supportive; however, this value did not seem to transfer well to the staff. He has now transferred to a private school and his response has been exceptional. Being new to the community, this experience has definitely impacted my perception of the Crowley school district.

This is a fantastic school. We are new to the area and have been made to feel very welcome. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and the school has a good zero tolerance for bullying and teasing. Teachers are dedicated and enthusiastic. The principal is friendly and professional. Highly recommended!

My nephew attends this school and loves it. He was in second grade last year and enjoyed the class he was in as well as his teachers. His teacher had a rewards program in which they received school bucks throughout the week that they could redeem at the end of the week for toys or other goodies.
