So many issues I have with this school. We are new to the school and state this year and everything is a mess. I provided a copy of my sons iep from his previous school, the principal said they need to evaluate him themselves which I said of course I understand. Months go by, nothing has been done because they “can’t get ahold of his old school or district” but when I call the old school or district I get through right away. This school also has one of the worst communication issues I’ve ever experienced. Picture day, announced the day before it’s scheduled. Any notices sent out are days maybe a week in advanced if being generous. No open house, no parent conferences. Teachers say they are going to do something and they don’t. Principal worried more about attendance than anything else. I could go on and on. Would not recommend this school.

The last of my kids just graduated 5th grade today. I must say that I love Oakhurst and the Teachers. My youngest two have attended since Kinder and Only had an issue with one teacher (who left following year) the entire time. My daughter was quickly moved out of that classroom and placed in a new class. she was able to excel and even got high scores on her state tests.

My child went to Natha Howell before coming to this school I took him out of that school because of his 4th grade reading and writing teacher was always yelling and telling him he was not smart. Got sick of going to principal because she never did nothing about it. Now my child loves coming to this school and all his teachers help him learn and do not yell or scream. The principal here also listens to any problems and does something it.

I agree the teachers are never there. My son got good grades in school but we just barely got his star test results and he has to go to summer school. How can my son learn when his teacher is never there? He neve has homework too. Were so upset.
