Our son attended Key School for a year and a half from 2020-2022. He has many diagnoses, PANS being the most significant one. He had a history of significant anxiety and behavioral challenges and came from public school after first grade in 2020 at the start of Covid. We enrolled him at Key to try to give him a more stable school environment and informed them fully of his history including his medical needs. During the first year he had some behavioral challenges that they worked through with the elementary advocate at the time who worked well with him. Overall he did great his first year and he was very happy. His second year the school moved into their new building and the elementary advocate changed to the person was also the assistant head of school. Our son had a significant flare in his PANS symptoms and we were seeing multiple healthcare providers and keeping the school updated daily. Ultimately with the staffing change and the move to the new building the elementary advocate no longer had the time to spend helping our son and the administration decided they no longer wanted to deal with him. They had him say goodbye to his class and left him sitting alone in the lobby before they even called me to come pick him up. The rejection our son experienced as a result of their decisions has changed him permanently. He was devastated. We requested a meeting with administration to ask what could be done to make it possible for him to stay and they were unwilling to work with us. Their decisions and the way our son was treated have had a lasting detrimental effect on him. They advertise themselves as a school for kids with ADHD and Autism and learning differences but I do not recommend this school if there is any chance your child may have any challenging behavioral symptoms. There are many wonderful staff and one teacher in particular developed a strong bond with our son, we appreciate her still. But this is not a school for kids with behavioral challenges. And because they are a private school they are not held accountable for how they make decisions or treat families.

They made a huge impact in my son's outlook for further education and a social life. The confidence he built here was tremendous!

Disappointing!! I didn’t realize how big of a mistake it was sending my child to this school until we began homeschooling. I would not recommend this school to others.

Overall, a great experience! Key School is a place that students, who have experience trouble learning in a traditional setting, can come to learn and feel welcome. The teacher truly care for the students.

It was "ok" but could have been better had the leadership not been so two-faced.

This school has provided me with vast amounts of help and knowledge. If I was ever in a bind I could ask for help any time. The faculty to student ratio is 1-2. And best of all it suits almost any kid. Now with the 1 star review that has no merit. The kid "told to be withdrawn" that year was a trouble maker who broke a table. This kid also cussed at the teachers and hit students. He was not a good kid. Also "they targeted me because I was new to town" has no merit. They have financial aid options and are in the best interest of the students.

The concern with children is very impressive. Teachers have wonderful support and they get to help students at their respective learning level, something very rare in American education today.

i am 17 i was having trouble with impulsivity and anger i made this clear to the school they said they could help and they failed because i am constantly harshly punished and many augury and when this was pointed out the said it was because i was because i was a leader the are not just when this was pointed out they used things that happen weeks ago to justify it in my opinion this school sucks many are unhappy here do not send your kids here.

I'll be honest, I wasn't sure about Key School when I first visited... the location was less than desirable and the school structure seemed rigid. However, we decided to at least give it a try with a three day trial visit for our 5th grade son. Surprisingly to me, by the end of the second day our son begged to be transferred to Key School and to finish out his school year there. We continued on and had our son complete the next year at Key School. His school anxiety disappeared and he thrived in his learning. He would often comment on how the teachers "knew how to teach him" with his learning differences (visual spatial learner with dysgraphia and dyscalculia). I was so impressed with his progress in reading and math, as well as his growth in typing fluency and root word acquisition. Due to the high cost, we tried to transition to a lower cost school for 7th grade, but soon realized that Key School is where our son learns best... we transferred back and our son (and family) couldn't be happier. As long as the Lord continues to provide, our son will most likely finish out his junior high/ high school education at Key School (and I know he will be all the better equipped for college and life because of it).

Key School has helped as a student to improve in my math skills, my reading comprehension, and even composition. Reading comprehension was difficult for me, so I started going to the summer school program, and it has turned my grades around. I definitely recommend this school to everyone it is amazing.

DO NOT recommend. We believed they wanted to help our son. They accepted him into the school & we placed a "substantial" sum of money down. After approx. 2-3 months, we were told our son wasn't working out & strongly encouraged us to withdraw him. Our family was vulnerable, having endured a recent tragedy. Not only did they keep ALL of the CASH we paid, they wanted to be paid MORE and sent us a bill. This school KNEW we were vulnerable. I look back now & resent that this school took advantage of us. I believe they knew "exactly" what they were doing in briefly enrolling our son. I wonder how much "money" they are making doing this? We could have enrolled our son in comm college and had him finish out his education, or the public school even had options. We were new in town and ignorant of all options & they "knew" this and took advantage. If you are considering them "BEWARE." Explore your options and DO NOT trust that they are concerned for your child. That is my experience and although I will never recoup the exorbitant amount of money they deceptively procured from our family (cash) when we were vulnerable, I feel better having this forum to warn others.

My son was struggling at school, so much that he was going to be held back. After much consideration and discussing with our pediatrician, decided to enroll him. This was one of the best decisions we've ever made to get him on track. Words cannot express our gratitude to Ms. Key and the amazing teachers at this wonderful school! In the few years that our boy was there, he was given the tools to mainstream back into public school and is on the A honor roll! If you are struggling with your child (dyslexia,ADHD like mine), please check this school out.
