Enrolling my child at NSHS has been one of the best decisions I've made for their education. From the moment we stepped onto the campus, we were greeted warmly by the staff who exemplify professionalism and dedication. The facilities are modern and well-maintained, providing a safe and inspiring environment for learning. What truly sets NSHS apart is its exceptional faculty. Each teacher goes above and beyond to nurture a love for learning in every student. They tailor their approach to meet the individual needs of each child, fostering both academic growth and personal development. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed to challenge students while also encouraging creativity and critical thinking. My child has thrived academically, and I've seen a noticeable improvement in their confidence and problem-solving skills since attending NSHS. Beyond academics, NSHS offers a rich array of extracurricular activities that cater to diverse interests. Whether it's sports, arts, or community service, there's something for everyone to explore and excel in. These activities not only complement the academic program but also teach valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership, and resilience.Communication between the school and parents is excellent. I always feel informed about my child's progress and any upcoming events. The school community is tight-knit and supportive, fostering a sense of belonging among students and families alike.Overall, I couldn't be happier with our experience at NSHS. It's more than just a school; it's a place where children are encouraged to dream big, work hard, and become the best versions of themselves. I highly recommend NSHS to any parent looking for a nurturing and enriching educational environment.

NSHS has, and is, making great progress! Beside the hard working, dedicated staff, NS is a great cultural experience where anyone willing can earn a top rate education. GreatSchools rating does not take into account the percentages of English language learners, over 10%, and the number of special education students in the district functional skills program at NS? Those programs add to the diversity and student experiencing other cultures and under privileged. The kids work to help each other. NS have a very large number of college credit courses, access to vocational careers/internships and many supports to improve academic and life skills. The administrators have very high expectations and hold the kids to them and seem to be good leaders. The band program is tops in FWCS and have been to the state finals 11 of the last 12 years even though they don't have the resources of the more well to do suburban schools. Yes, there are some rude and unmotivated students but these seem to be declining at a huge rate. The athletics programs have worked hard with there athletes to be good students and great citizens. Student leadership in the school is on the rise!! I recommend North Side to anyone who is willing to work hard and earn a diploma in a diverse school.

North Side is an urban school, yes, but that doesn't make it bad. NS has a dynamic principal who is REALLY involved and present in the halls of the school---the teachers strive for success, and we have a few teachers who have gone over and above their duty to ensure that our son make the grade. The school calls itself "the Redskin Family", and we as parents have felt so welcomed by the parent groups. Here are some facts: North Side has an EXCELLENT arts program. There is a gorgeous auditorium, and they're known for their strong theater program. There's a state of the art piano classroom, visual arts department, a dark room for photography (that's larger than the dark room I used on my college's campus!), and wonderful teachers. The marching band has gone to state competition 33 times, including this year. The jazz bands are phenomenal. The choirs and dance programs are award-winning. Last year, North Side Football won the SAC Championship. This year, North Side Basketball won the SAC Championship---for the third year in a row.

Two daughters have graduated from North Side HS and we had no complaints. It is a public school, and located in an urban area, but nothing we experienced suggests this school should be rated as poorly as GreatSchools indicates. It seems to me GreatSchools does nothing to take into account excellence at urban schools - just prejudicially redlines them due to the widely varied test results due to the vast variety of students and home situations. I don't think GreatSchools does a good job rating this or other excellent urban schools in Fort Wayne.

Honestly this isn't a good school don't send your kids here. The teachers don't even teach and don't even encourage the students to pass all they want is to get paid. The principal here is crazy and annoying and doesn't care either , this school just has no control and kids just care about sports.
