This school is a click school. It is all about who you are and who you know at this school. Most of the students parents work at the school and get special treatment and Fort Gibson lets you know that this is how it is and if you do not like it then they basically say go somewhere else. The principle at the IE was so rude to me one time whenever I was in my new car utilizing my hands free device to listen to a voicemail. She literally came up to my door while I was listening to the voicemail in park and she ripped my door open and starting yelling at me to get off the phone. 1st) She had no right to open my door and touch my property like that. 2nd) There is no rule stating in the handbook or anywhere around stating that you could not use your hands free device while in a parent line.(common sense if she had any would have made her realize it's not illegal to drive using your hands free device, everyone utilizes it, I mean that's why they invented it, for this purpose right here). Instead of the superintendent doing his job , when things like this happen , he just takes the staff's side every time and that is the reason this behavior keeps on. If you want a school with a good education, with people who actually care and don't break rules for there staff to cover there butts then don't go here. There are a FEW good people in this school but that is about it.

The people that are griping about this school have obviously been told no on something ridiculous they thought they were entitled to. All you have to do is look at their test scores-they’re pretty high achieving-and realize that they work hard. Shame on someone for being upset for the fact that they can have fun while doing it. Everyone in that building-from the principal and the counselor, to the teachers, custodians, and cafeteria workers would do anything for any kid inside that building. I would put this school up against anyone and am so proud my child is being educated here.

This use to be a great school! My child has went to this school since kindergarten, however now it’s not so great the teachers are mean and rude the principal tries to keep things that happen to your child under wraps and punishes the child when he reaches out to his mother for help. My child came home crying because of her yelling and being in his face. This school year has been stressful because of the teachers and principal and showing racism towards my child.

The school has some really amazing teachers and the secretaries are super sweet and welcoming, but the school has unfortunately become more of a place of play than of educating. Education seems to have taken a back seat. There is no enrichment or anything provided for the gifted students anymore. The staff's children seem to receive special treatment over the other students regardless of being deserving or not. Bullying seems to be a huge problem at this school and within the entire district. Compared to other schools in the state of Oklahoma, it is a "good" school, but it has definitely decreased in quality from just a few years ago.

This school is absolutely amazing. They always put the needs the of the children above all things. You won't find another school that loves your child as much as they do. The office staff is incredible, helpful, friendly, and always so welcoming.
