I don’t know how you comment on the website about the school district for anyone who is looking to buy their homes in this district. I am a mom of 2 and I also went through Southeast Delco School District. Growing up in 1990s I was attending at Delcroft Elementary School which was amazing. Im 38 years old and my son(14) yr old, he had the same first grade teacher who has taught me when I was little. He is now 14 years old and will be going to high school next year. I just wanted to inform my advice and opinions to those who are unsure about the possibility of them moving into this school district. I want them to know from an honest parents perspective and truth about it. Delcroft Elementary is not absolutely a horrible place to least start your child off but it is not a school that goes above and beyond. The experiences over the years have changed dramatically it’s so sad to see and witness the downfall because of the destruction of multiple reasons. But As for my son going to high school next year, he will never step foot in Academy Park High and I write this with such sadness in my heart because my high school years were the best 4 years of my life and going there graduating there in 2004 was the last time I could say it was decent. I don’t know what happened why they have become so unsafe and horrible with not enough staff and teachers but I don’t see Academy Park lasting much longer the way the entire school is a joke. Education is absolutely critical for our kids and sending my son to a school where I would be constantly uncomfortable with his safety, the inconsistency of staff or help, he would never learn anything. It is got to be known and understood that this is not a school you want your child/children attending because their education level will decline and decrease severely and significantly fast. They really need to get it together with the help they desperately need but I personally give it maybe another year maybe 2 at most until they shut and close down. Because right now it’s a circus nobody is learning nobody cares nobody knows how to respect each other, it’s a mess. So please parents whenever you’re buying a house note the district unless you have the blessings of sending your child/children to private or catholic schools. Don’t let nobody try and fool you or convince you unless they experienced it before and witness it firsthand. Thank you for your time

This school is the worst. I've had several meetings with the principal and vice principal, and I always walk away feeling like nothing was resolved. They really dont care about parent concerns, its their school, their way. If your child falls behind, they move on without helping. The communication is terrible, and the school is filthy. I am ready to sell my home and run far away

Not enough resources for children. Great principal, she works with what she has, She definitely tries to know all the kids in her school by name. My daughter went to Delcroft from 1st to 4th grade. I constantly asked the teachers questions about her learning capabilities and teachers either did not care or did not want to notice anything. Of course many factors are involved. I had an issue with a terrible teacher in first grade, I won’t say her name on here but she was horrible. If I knew then what I knew now about my child now a 7th grader, I would have took my child out in first grade. My daughter was recently evaluated at her new school and she is possibly experiencing issues because of her learning foundation at Delcroft. From a parent that left this district try Catholic school or a better performing district, this schools lacks funding and resources. A basic education is offered here South East delco is not a place to educate your child.

This school overall is ok, they just need to fix a few issues. I hope the school gets better with time, but i doubt it will. Taking your child their may be a mistake, especially if your child has self-confidence issues. Autistic support is amazing so the school is great for that.

The teachers are great and so is the principal. Downside ,school needs air conditioning and more busses.

I have a middle school child with ASD and am in several family support group circles in the Greater Philadelphia area. At EVERY group meeting, there is one parent who breaks down in sobs sharing their experiences with their school district staff, teachers, or support faculty! Our child has experienced academic successes, maturing social behaviors, and an expressed enjoyment of school and learning. The teachers, administrators, and support staff for the past 4 years have been nurturing to my child, communicative to us, and effectively building a near typical community around my son. Thank you, Delcroft! Thank you, SE DelCo!

I am a former employee and parent of former students of this school and feel that I have to write a review about the unprofessional principal and previous assistant principal from last year. Both were unable to address the needs of the students and did not care because they were busy sitting in the front office talking about students, their families and staff members inappropriately and loud enough for anyone to hear. The person that wrote the movie Mean Girls must have known the principal and vice principal at Delcroft. The students deserve to have people in charge that really care about them, instead of themselves, this duo only focused on themselves. It is sad because there are many committed teachers and other professional personnel that are bullied by this principal, I know many staff members want to leave because the administration is aware and will not do anything about this principal, this behavior would never be accepted anywhere else, many wonder how it has continued. Our children deserve a chance at a good education, this is not happening at Delcroft, and will only get worse as good staff continue to leave because of the lack of professionalism. Avoid this school on all levels if you can.

Delcroft school is uneducated and only worries about the PSSA. All the 5th grade teachers are defiant, worthless, favorite students, and said your parent didn't teach you correctly to my son and it hurts to see his face when he tells me all this disgraceful comments. But he puts on a brave face everyday to his school. And her formal student said curse worse about her out loud and none of the teachers punished him. This is a WARNING don't go to delcroft

They don't even deserve 1 star. They should of never put middle school kids with elem, the kids at this school are out of control, the principal is a joke, she cares about the wrong things,is afraid of the teens, she said so herself. Her reponse when told they where at the corner fighting and cursing, was call the cops the last time I confronted them they came after me, that's someone I want in charge of a school full of teens, NOT. Also they care more about if a uniform has a stripe out of place , or PSSA's ( because they cont to fail them ) then daily learning. They no longer teach cursive writing my 3rd grader can not read anything written in cursive, what a disgrace. They also don't know how to handle kids who have any special behavior issues, they need to replace the principal and turn this school around. There is some really good teachers who care a about the kids and know what they are doing, but when the school isn't run right they can only do so much. I went to this school some 40 yrs ago and would pull my kids out right now if I could sell my house. This district is the reason the house don't sell. The only positive is if you are lucky enough to get a good teacher.

I wish there was a negative star rating. This school is out of control. The Principal is a naive fool who thinks so much of herself and doesn't see how bad of a job she is doing. The new Vice Principal has some good ideas but is restricted by the person above her. They both have no idea how to deal with the students who go there. I have sat down with these two to discuss a problem with a student who has been hitting my daughter for 4 years in a row. My daughter finally got upset enough to defend herself to this boy and hit him back once and they punished her for it. Meanwhile the teacher who saw everything transpire did nothing to stop it. The teacher didn't even write it up until she received an email from my wife.

We just pulled our daughter out of this school, too many 2 legged animals and bully drama. This school is absolutely HORRIBLE!! If it weren't for our previous landlords adult daughter coming into a situation and need her mothers house we certainly never would have moved to this area let alone transferring our daughter to this school.Our daughter was a straight A advanced math honor roll student at her previous school, she lost interest in just about anything school and it bacame about getting through the day thanks to this schools environment. The staff at this school needs to get with reality and face the truths about what goes on there instead of this "If you're not ever in a bullying situation, you're abnormal." nonsense that we had to hear come out of our daughters mouth because that's what her teacher said in class that day. We send our daughter to school to be a flourishing student, NOT to be a statistic!!!
