Great school. Amazing teachers. The smaller size helped my children excel. Very clean and well run school environment.

2014, New principal at Check Elementary. Two grades condensed, over filled classrooms. This school has a few fabulous teachers. There and assistants...who should be taking these overflowing condensed classrooms and teaching them! A main reason Americans are continuously dropping in Universal statistics, along with useless knowledge and less practical applications and dumbed down field trips. What has happened to America? If anything changes with our, the voice of parents, I will update.

Floyd Elementary is a very good school. The reading program and speech program are exceptional. My Fifth Grader has three absolutely wonderful teachers who make his learning a pleasant, fun experience. True, the building is old (built in 1952) and could use renovations at the very least. Those associated with the school do the best they can with what they have. A rather large budget cut is looming and will be detrimental to all students, teachers and parents.

I have two children who attend Floyd Elementary, and I must say that Floyd is lacking in a few areas. There are not any before or after school programs for children such as adventure club, or tutoring help for children. It would certainly help parents who work outside the county. Other counties surrounding Floyd have these programs, and it is ashame that we do not.
