I attended school at Floyd, grades 1-12. There were about 20 kids in my grade, and most of the ones I started with in the first grade were there for every year until we all graduated. I'm sure Floyd is great for the 'in' crowd, but it was a terrible experience for me from the third grade through graduation. I was bullied horribly and in very cruel ways by many of the students and even by some teachers and principles. Because it's such a small, low-paying school and is close to ENMU, it draws a lot of very young teachers. Sometimes those teachers value popularity over education, and so 'side' with the 'in' kids against the rest, making classes, sports, and other times when there is no escape, absolutely miserable. I could hardly wait to get through and leave. I'm sure there are good points to attending such a small school, but for those who aren't in the 'in' clique, there are no others in which to belong. Given a choice, I think most kids would do better in a larger school.

Nice school, kids enjoy it and learning is actually something the want to do, I recommend to everyone.
