Excellent school!! Provides an environment of learning enrichment and tolerance and acceptance! The students, staff, teachers and coaches are all amazing! The students are respectful towards one another and to all the adults! There are many programs, clubs, organizations and activities for students!! The teachers create comfortable , loving, patient and inclusive atmospheres in each classroom! The Principals are fantastic!, they are engaged with the students and active on campus! They want nothing but the best for our campus!! It is a family environment with fun learning! Students want to come to school and go to college! College is very encouraged! I can not recommend it enough! Our third child will be a senior this year, it’s our third one since 2013 and we have consistently had AWESOME teachers, coaches, principals and staff!!!! Our new principal Dr. Koontz is going to keep it amazing!! He’s the best!

Excellent High School. Prepares kids for the next step and provides them with all kinds of opportunities.

My opinion about bullying is not permissible here. All I can say is as an elder we handled it did not require school intervention if a person got bullied our siblings would handle it forthwith

There is a lot of opportunity in this school.

This school has incredible opportunities for students to find exactly what they are talented in and become great in any given area. My child has truly flourished at this school. I know the administration and staff are very helpful and friendly when it comes to the needs of each student. I have seen this first-hand as a parent. I know my child is in good hands at this school.

The teachers are for the most part effective and the academics are strong for AP and PAP students. But it is a culture where the popular kids and parents dominate leadership roles in sports and extracurricular activities. 9th grade center is great And not part of my review. Different administration.

Lack of leadership from the Principal that circles the wagon to lift up his Assistant Principals without the best interest of students.

As a parent I would rate this school 3.5 out of ten, which equates to 35% of the teachers there are good and the rest are average, and in some cases horrendous and should never be teaching students anywhere but the idiotic tenure associated with their profession protects them. That, to me, is a horrible idea.

We moved here from out of state. Coach Atkinson met with us, spent a considerable amount of time with us and has been fair, tough and gracious to my son as a football player. I'm impressed with how coach juggles all these players across 7 different teams to get each kid considerable playing time at their level. My son is a mediocre player at best. Coach Atkinson has treated him with a tremendous amount of respect even though he's not a star.

Our third child is a senior at Marcus this year. After 12 years of experience here, I consider it a great school. Each of our kids has been able to find a niche where he or she excelled and felt valued. I love the huge range of opportunities that are available to each kid. Of course, as with any school, some teachers are better than others, but in my kids' pre-AP and AP classes we have had more than our share of great teachers. The one area I would like to see improvement is with the counselors - would love to have them be more hands-on and proactive. Our fourth child starts high school next year, and I am happy to be sending her to Marcus. I know when she graduates, she will be very well prepared for college.

This is a terrible school with terrible administration. Most teacher do not even teach and some think they are college professors. The counselors do nothing to help the students. The parents are rude just like every one in this horrible town! Flower Mound is the worst place to live with the worst schools and high prices for everything. People are rude and selfish here and good luck trying to drive anywhere. They will cut you off and then act like it is your fault. It is over crowded in this town!

Excellent school! AP classes, technology, and a responsive administration. One of my daughters' Algebra teachers has won me over with his dedication. He ensures that your child understands and he treats the children as individuals. That's what I call a passion for teaching!

I just graduated from Marcus this May. Going to Marcus and being a part of the band program is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I can honestly say that even thought I will not be majoring in music, I learned how to be focused and studious from my experiences in band and as a student leader. There are some negative comments about our school on this website, and I will say that there is a very small element of students who make poor personal decisions at our school. However, from what we hear at church and on social media, MHS doesn't have half the number of drug problems as some other schools in the area. Almost every teacher I had taught really very well and encouraged and cared about their students. I owe it to my band directors and my AP teachers for guiding me to be a better person and for teaching me how to be an upstanding citizen and student. I will go to college this fall confident that I will be able to avoid the pitfalls of stereotypical college students. Thanks, Marcus, I had the time of my life.

Excellent teachers? I'd say hit-and-miss. There are some teachers who don't care, some teachers who care too much, some who teach well, and some who don't. The fact is, the school is very large. 3000+ students, although there is a freshmen center planned. Overall, it has decent teachers, because it would be impossible to guarantee they were all outstanding. From what I can tell, the principals and vice principals vary in degrees of strictness and discipline, but we need all of them for all that they do. But there are most certainly challenging academic programs. The AP classes require self-study rather than a teacher regurgitating information to be memorized, and I would say that on average, students in Pre-AP or AP classes have better chances at getting a challenging and rewarding education than students who take regular classes, and teachers who more likely don't care as much. Overall, the school is pretty good, and has pretty decent testing scores so far. I'll grant that it has problems that are pretty much unavoidable in any public school, but those are inevitable. The facility is nice, and most of the students are nice too. I'd recommend this school as above average.

The councelors are non-responsive. So much so that my chld lost a college scholarship to the first college choice. Next are the drugs. Anytime you have a school with affluent families, you have drugs and this place is no different. Unless you count the schools stance of brushing the problem under the rug because it's to big for them to handle. The teachers are ok, but they are going in the direction of letting the computer modules teach your kids and not all children learn in that manner.
