Bluebonnet is a great environment for our students. Our kids are loving and kind and always excited to welcome new friends who join the campus throughout the year. We are culturally diverse, which only enhances our experiences. Our Principal is always fair and always available to her parents, students and staff. Being employed with LISD for over 20 years, I can assure you this is NOT the care families receive at every campus. Are we perfect, I am sure not to everyone, but are we the best the district has to offer? I feel we are! Parents want their children on our campus! They build, buy and rent in our zone for the experience. I invite you to be part of our family too! We have a lot to be very proud of!

My son attended Bluebonnet kindergarten in 2017/2018. And the fact he was not English fluent made his life a nightmare. Not understanding what he was asked to do would be a reason for the teacher to set him apart and eventually be left under the 'care' of principal assistant. Once, she determined he could not leave a room where he was detained (for a reason he never understood). He was scared and peed on himself while crying. I remember i confronted the principal and her assistant, and when questioning them about this event, the arrogance of the assistant blaming my son was really unexpected. While the principal was there, shaking and clear uncomfortable with the scene, the now retired assistant was exactly what my son described to me - EVIL.

Bluebonnet is simply an extraordinary elementary school. My gamer third grader can’t wait to go to school in the morning and is beaming and full of energy when he gets home, even on occasion he skips playing outside or gaming to read. His reading comprehension is now outstripping his friends at his old school in Washington State. His math has him already learning basics of trig. Science is very encompassing. He has lots of friends. The school really emphasizes no bullying ever, being honest and kind and teamwork, yet also the child’s strength as an individual and independent thinker. Teachers and principal and school district is awesome. He will be well prepared to live a wonderful life.

TERRIBLE. The administration at this school abuses their power over kids options and choices. The application of the curricula is medicre to say the least. The emphasis is on testing STAAR to comply versus in depth knowledge. The administration are bullies themselves and dared to tell teachers to avoid communication with certain parents and children. They lack the knowledge of the school district guidelines and abuse their power over the children, perfect definition of bullies. They lack general common sense and knowledge. My daughter refers to this school as THE JAIL. This place was a nightmare for us.

There are numerous reviews that high achieving students are left unfulfilled. This is what I experienced with my children it got pretty bad and I talked with administration about it and like others have said nothing was done. It’s a real shame this happens there but talking with other parents almost everyone agrees. The one review that said their student was pushed to achieve their best must be a teacher or administrator. Lol. We are much happier at our college prep school best decision we have ever made was to switch. Really sad the only way to get a better education is to switch schools :(

Terrible. The school lacks the understanding of inclusiveness and diversity from all points of views.

As a parent of a high achiever, I can personally testify that my child was never left bored. The teachers always knew when to add a harder problem or challenge in another direction. As a regular volunteer, the staff is very friendly and kind. I’ve never experienced any rudeness from staff or other parents. Bluebonnet has a great community feel. Very welcoming, friendly, and a safe place for kids.

This school is a waste of my tax dollars. I hope administration changes soon. I don’t trust the staff at this school with my children. Academically, they are mediocre. Socially, this school is awful. It is a dog eat dog social environment.

Couldn't agree with the last reviewer more. My experience was that the top of the class were brought down by under performing students. Its a shame this happens but it is severe at this school. They also spend so much time "teaching to the test" instead of providing knowledge rich curriculum. All of these reasons are why we left. If your student is a top learner they will be coming home saying they are bored like mine was :(

This school review is mixed, the reason being it provides different results for different students. It is at best a good school for weak students, but a terrible school for very bright high achieving students. Another reason this rates poorly is the quality of the fundamental education, core subjects like Mathematics require a solid foundation. This is lacking, therefore students go without understanding the core of how to solve problems which is used in future grades and in life in general. I will upload hundreds and hundreds of blank pages from their text books at year end. This is because during the year the teachers failed to complete their syllabi on time and hurried their instruction at the end. How in the world will students learn then? Lastly as I said before , this school helps weak and average students get enough to progress, weighing down on high achievers forcefully rendering them also in the average bucket. After all these are the days of 'everyone is a winner' policy. But in a thriving competitive environment which these kids will definitely encounter in their future this experience will leave them gasping for air and utterly incapable of competing.
