The school is great! We help our children with their homework and assist them in understanding what is proctored in the classroom. People forget that schools are set to share education and knowledge with their students. Parents & Guardians still have the responsibility to ensure their kids are well behaved, that they are learning what they should, if they have a learning disability they need to work with their child and maybe even get a tutor after hours to help them be the best they can be and most importantly to (again) ensure there is discipline at home and away from home. We try to have lunch with our kids at school a few times every a school year and we also try to stay involved in their activities every day. Is every teacher great!? Not so much, just like everything. Some are better than others, just like in every job category. But overall, the school is fantastic and the staff aims to set and maintain a higher standard for everyone. As a tax payer and a parent of two, I appreciate what the folks at Thunderbolt Elementary are doing for the school and for the community.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this school. Both of our kids go there and they are just great at what they do with the kids. Great school, great teachers and great staff. So blessed to have our kids going to Thunderbolt.

Terrible, if your child is not one of the top or chosen you get no help.

By all Florida standards, which aren't much, this school is one of the better schools. However, that is if your child doe not have any struggles. they do not inform parents of concerns, if they even have any, and they do not worry about their students in a way that they should i.e. educationally concerns/struggles. I know first hand of more than one child that has gotten "good enough" grades, D's & C's, coupled with AWEFUL, below average test scores for their grade level, that have been promoted to the next grade and now struggle even more as they are a yr or two behind the average.

An excellent school for preparing children academically. The safety that is taken into consideration for the children's welfare is phenomenal. The parents really get involved with the school. The school plans many fun events to promote high morale. Good conduct and study habits are promoted at this school.

Horrible!! Keep looking if you want a school that will educate your children. Teaching for the FCAT only here.

Kindergarten was fantastic! My daughter's first grade teacher has set the benchmark for all other teachers in her life so far. I wish I could name her here, because she deserves the recognition. Second grade was good, too, but often I felt that my daughter, heck, the whole class were an afterthought to one of her two teachers. One was clearly dedicated, too bad she only taught two days a week. The other teacher didn't seem to be able to remember the students' names, nor to spell them correctly. She seemed to frequently forget things, like rewards the kids had earned, things that were planned, and notices sent home were often late. I am sure my child is pretty well prepared for third grade, but I have to admit that I was disappointed in this teacher's seeming lack of interest in her students.

Thunderbolt is an excellent school. My son has attended from Grade 1 through 3. All the teachers are dedicated to their students. The teachers go over and above their job descriptions daily. I found my son to be challenged by the work in the class. Ms. Phillips, the principal, is very involved in the students activities but also maintains excellent discipline in the school.

School is Awesome. Great Parent Participation. Parents are encouraged to get involved. Teachers are overall great. Challenging kids to excel. Focus on Reading Reading Reading to improve comprehension skills for grades K through 4 so far from what I can tell. I have a 2nd grader and 4th grader and have been there since K. Principal (Ms. Phillips) is great. Highly visible, speaks to kids and parents and is not solely in the office like some principals.
