Terrible. My sons went to this school. My son was six and his teacher isolated him during recesses and punished him because he forgot his notebook/calendar with the after schoolcare (in same facility). She did this for ONE MONTH solid, until I surprised her one day and discovered it. I complained to the school and they defended her. Superprejudiced establishment.

The 4th grade teacher is pitiful cannot recognize students having a problem with learning disabilities from acting out due to frustration. When a child has fell behind due to changing different schools over 3 years it has an effect on some kids that are shy and do not ask for help. Teachers are to have that ability to observe their students and provide help to those in need not just bully them in front of the class making them a skeptical by making them a laughing stock and feeling that they are worthless and no one cares for them. My grandson Cayden has been humiliated bullied and belittled in front of the whole class by his 4th grade teacher. HE FEELS EVERYONE HATES HIM now is that a good teacher NO IT IS NOT!!!

The new principle that came to the school this year has really changed the culture of the school, for the worse in my opinion. First off, she's not good with communicating to parents. Kids and teachers have told me they don't like her strict attitude. I rarely see her in the hallways during conferences. She cancelled a couple of afterschool events that have traditionally taken place there. If you knew Mrs. Greene (the previous principle), this new principle is the complete opposite in terms of attitude, openness, friendliness and leadership.

My son started Kindergarten at Asbell just last month, and we are so impressed! His teacher is caring, has good classroom skills and communicates great. The morning assembly is a positive way to start the day, and makes my son want to get up and get to school. We are extremely pleased with our school!

Asbell was truly the school with a heart until admin changed. The principal many see as strong is really a bit of a bulley, in my opinion. Ask the teachers who've left the building if you want to know the true story. The teachers who've stayed....wonderful!
