I lived in the district for close to 15 years...one child started in Cosor in 5th gr. until graduating from FHS and the other in Cosor from k through 5. I had to pull my younger one off the bus and drive him every day starting in 1st grade. The kids were very unruly & that had an impact on him. By the time he made the 45 minute trip to school he was completely wound up. The school itself, as you can tell by the testing scores, has been rated appropriately. My kids could have easily skipped k & 1st grades and maybe more by Cosor standards. My taxes were around $6,200. for a basic ranch & I expected more from this district. If the tax base had more children "IN" the district schools maybe it would get its act together.

This school has really improved these last couple of years. The food, the classrooms, they are even rebuilding the school! Besides that, the teachers and staffs are wonderful! The principal really does know how to improve this school. Keep it up!

I am not impressed at all with this school. Parent's are not regularly encouraged to participate. I was not even allowed to come in for my daughter's school "birthday party." I was instructed to leave cupcakes and supplies at the front desk and a teachers aide delivered it to the classroom. My daughter's preK teacher was fantastic. She was thorough in her reports and sent home monthly newsletters. Kindergarten has been a much different story. My daughter's teacher left on maternity leave and we weren't notified who was substituting for her until the day before. I wasn't informed that my daughter was having difficulties in class until December, during parent teacher conferences. There were no "holiday" activities mentioned, other than an in-class cookie swap. They regularly inform us of events (book fair, picture day, safe trick-or-treating) on short notice, often only one day in advance. It seems to be a very unwelcoming environment.
