St Joseph's is a wonderful school. We enrolled our 8th grader this year. I wish we had found this school years ago. Every teacher is kind and caring. The students are very good kids and accepted our daughter right away. She is excelling in her studies and is happy to go to school, which is a blessing. Night and day difference from where she was previously. We highly recommend St. Joseph's School!

St. Joes is a community based on values. This school cares about creating a wholistic environment where academics and social-emotional well-being are paramount. The school boasts an EEC accredited preschool program at half the cost of traditional day care. Continue as a part of this family community to eighth grade. Money should not be a factor. Discuss your concerns with the tuition and see what aide can be provided. This gift to your children will be dividends well into high school, college and beyond.

We currently have 4 students enrolled at St. Joseph School. This year our oldest son, who has been at St Joseph School since he was 4 (10 years at St. Joseph), will be leaving catholic education. In the world that we live in, with so many choices to be made, we are more confident that our son will make positive choices, make new friends and excel in his academics in High School. This is all due to the strong foundation he has been given at St. Joseph School in spiritual and academic education. He has also maintained high grades in all academic areas. With this ever changing world, many times not for the better, we are glad to have our children in a safe environment where they are surrounded with opportunities to make positive choices and be role models. All four children thoroughly enjoy their experiences at St. Joseph School. This includes the love of their teachers, as well as their friendships with their peers.

My child attended this accredited school from 5th grade, until, he graduated 8th grade. Mrs. Piazza made the school even better. My child became a member of the Jr. National Honor Society and Vice President of the school because the teacher's are educated from refined universities and colleges and are well equipped to teach these grade levels. My child's favorite teacher's here were Mrs. Monticello and Mrs. Costa. All the kids stated they were intelligent and taught that intelligence to the children. They learned the academics required and they learned confidence, leadership, self-esteem. They both respected these students, never yelled, never demeaned and never put them down. So, they taught these kids to respect others, to not yell, to not demean and never put down. They knew the secret that all parent's and teacher's need to know, KIDS WILL BECOME WHAT YOU TELL THEM THEY ARE. If you tell them, "You don't listen." "You don't obey." "You are no good." They will become what you tell them. If you tell them, "You are a good listener." "You do great." "You always obey." They will become what you say they are. If you want a school that kids don't get involved in drugs, alcohol or underage sexual involvement. This is the school for you. None of the kids are involved in those things because of the positive environment, morals and teachings. The administration, staff, teacher's, parents and student's all create positive outcomes for these kids. They become amazing, intelligent, strong, kind, supportive, successful, confident and positive role models for society. I was aware of claims of bullying, but, it was one kid that had behavior issues and treated other kids poorly. The kids defended themselves in return to stop the bullying. The parent removed the child. Then, was having behavior problems and was being expelled at the other school and tried to re-attend St. Joseph's school and was not accepted back due to the behavior problems, blame shifting the school and children, badmouthing everyone and not taking responsibility for the poor behavior and not correcting the issues. This school has zero tolerance for bullying and provides speakers to teach kids about bullying. This school is very supportive, thoughtful, kind, peaceful place to learn a great deal of education and values and breeds that in their students to spread that into larger communities.TY

The last review is a joke, just like the school. The teachers do not all have their master's degree, some not even a bachelor's. The education may be on par but in no way exceeds the standards. And the behavior and disrespect from some of the students that goes unnoticed because "boys will be boys" is atrocious. It all comes down to the almighty dollar. Some of the students should not be allowed to attend because of their behavior and bullying, but when the school needs the tuition to stay afloat, they stay. My child was there for 2 years, I gave them the benefit of the doubt, but in the end pulled him. Don't just go for a visit, ask around...ask parents, lots of parents.

If you are looking for a quality Catholic School with a warm and welcoming environment then you needn't look any further than St. Joseph's. This school is focused on academic excellence & gives special attention to the needs of every child. The principal, Mrs. Vareika, is a highly qualified, experienced educator & proven leader. Every teacher who works at St. Joseph's have their Masters Degree and all aides have an Associates or better. The NAEYC Accreditation sets the bar high for St. Joseph's School. The staff meet or exceed the aforementioned standards which explains the highly desirable Iowa test scores & impressive high school placement scores. Staff members share the same goal & vision; academic excellence! I strongly suggest that parents do their research while choosing a Catholic School. Not all Catholic Schools implement the same standards for required, formal education credentials & experience for their teachers and administrators. In my opinion, St. Joseph's is one of the best schools in the Diocese and it is my pleasure to highly recommend St. Joseph's to any parent that is searching for excellence in education for their child.
