The school is leaps and bounds where it was as this new administration has taken over. We have lost some attendance but it is due to over zealous parents and not about the education. There are many clubs for kids to be in ranging anywhere from sports, to quiz competitions, to chess clubs and band. School scores are going up and many of the other performance issues are being addressed.

The Sandy Creek Elementary at Clay Center is a good site, but just a shadow of its predecessor (Clay Center Elementary). Sandy Creek as a school and as part of the Unified District Number 5 is a school system that sees no reason to improve or change, will not take ownership of the problems it has, and has created an atmosphere of hostility and welcomeness to any input that would require introspection.
