Our boys have been at West Terrace since 2019. We have had a wonderful experience. The teachers have been accommodating and are always willing to talk about any concerns we have.

There's a lot of psychological methods used at West Terrace elementary school on students and possibly others. There's a huge amount of screen time in the place of real teaching. The administrator is obsessed with controlling teachers, staff, students and even parents. I'll mention something another person told me. They said that boys are treated differently and far worse than girls here. If a boy talks or steps out of line they're sent to the office, while the girls are allowed to step out of line and talk etc.. At least one time a student politely yet urgently told a teacher they must use the restroom but was denied. The student couldn't wait any longer and plead again but was sent to the office because of "behavior." Behavior is the #1 thing of concern here, not reading, writing & arithmetic. The name of the game at West Terrace is "control." Those trumped up behavior records are used to frighten/control parents as well as students. IMPORTANT FACT: Almost all students at West Terrace are taken regularly out of class for what they call "Interventions."

The teacher's are very committed and it is obvious they enjoy teaching at west terrace. I am currently house hunting, and my search revolves around my children going to West Terrace. My goal is to allow my son the opportunity to continue going there. My son currently is in first grade at West Terrace.:) also I plan to start my daughter next year in kindergarten.
