    0. school ultimately chose to ruin an 8 year old that recently lost a very important grandmother. His mother is also too tough on him. Walnut trained him and can't handle a boy wanting to finish reading rather than stop just then for another subject. Reading isn't usually a disruptive activity unless the authority needs more control than understanding.

They always help kids and they love all of us. Mrs. Conley is an awesome computer teacher. She helps out and she is very cool.

Walnut School is great because it helps teach the basic education for the whole world. If we didn't have this school, my child would not be as open-minded as he is today.

We have had a great experience at Walnut Elementary this year. The teacher is very good at communicating with parents and responding to our requests (from helping find a missing library book to rearranging parent teacher conferences).

My daughter has attended Walnut throughout her elementary school career. The staff is incredibly friendly, approachable, understanding and kind. Every teacher has gone out of their way at some point to help my child or to enhance her learning experience. This has ranged from having a para work with her daily on math skills to communicating with me about concerns and accomplishments academically. I have witnessed staff shoveling snow at the cross walk blocks away from the school. Teachers have attended events for my daughter that were unrelated to school, such as basketball games. That shows me the staff truly cares about my child. The principal is present at every program and event the school hosts, and she is there with a smile and hello for everyone. I have been extremely happy with the staff at Walnut, and if I had more children, this is the elementary school they would attend.

My wife attended this school as a child and when we looked to move, we specifically targeted the area for this school. Both our children attended this school and even though this will be our last year at Walnut, we will continue to support it by volunteering. You become family at Walnut. From the Principal on down, the staff is amazing and always so accessible and helpful. You can tell the school pride by attending a PTO meeting and viewing the numbers that attend.

My daughter has been attending this school since Kindergarten. Now that she is in 5th grade, we are both so very sad to be leaving Walnut. The community within, and around this school, is absolutely outstanding. The PTO is active and welcoming. The teachers work together with the administration to provide a well-rounded education experience for students and their families. I am a proud parent of a Walnut student and would highly recommend this elementary school (as well as the Walnut district) for anyone looking for an excellent educational experience for their child, and a place to call home.

My granddaughter attends school there and she is having a very good educational experience. She likes the staff and feels comfortable and safe at this school. The school has high academic expectations and many activities in the arts and recreation that are helping my granddaughter come out of her shell. GREAT school!

I love this school, the teacher, school staff, nurse all know my child by name and treat each child as they are special. They help the children learn and strive to better themselves in positive ways. I love That my child is learning a second language at a young age it helps them to to become a better person and understand both ways to speak to one another and I'm even learning it from my child. He loves getting up for scho and loves his environment there.

Walnut is, in my opinion, the best elementary school in Emporia. The teachers and staff are very creative and totally committed to excellence. It's a neighborhood school with no bussing, so many of the kids walk and it is a sweet and supportive environment. Highly recommended!
