I have really enjoyed my time at Timothy Christian. I have been given so many opportunities to grow closer to Jesus through Bible classes such as Christian Thought and Ethics. There are also so many wonderful Christian role models that have been influential for me. My teachers always stress the importance of Christ being the reason behind everything that we learn. I also have been pushed and challenged academically. There are a variety of challenging classes to take that have really prepared me well for life after Timothy. I would highly recommend Timothy Christian.

I have loved going to Timothy because of how faith-oriented the education/environment is and how the teachers and staff all genuinely care about each of their students. I also love how many opportunities there are to get involved in different activities outside of school. I was able to meet some amazing people that I never would’ve been able to meet if there wasn’t such an emphasis on trying new extracurriculars.

I’m a senior in high school at Timothy and I've been a student here since preschool. I absolutely love it here. The community is amazing, it's super easy to make friends and the academics are challenging for those who want it. There is also a great support system if you fall behind that puts you right back on track. The teachers are very nice and understanding, and I often become friends with them throughout the school year. There are plenty of extracurricular activities that are open to all students from athletics, to academic clubs like Scholastic Bowl and Mock Trial. The arts are also a strong suit at Timothy with a concert band, orchestra, choirs, theater, and plenty of art classes. I personally am involved with band, both concert and jazz, scholastic bowl, National Honors Society, cross country, and track. Overall, I have loved my experience at Timothy and highly recommend it to anyone.

I have attended Timothy Christian since 4th grade, and have been presented with so many amazing opportunities during my time here, both in and out of the classroom. Having a Christ-centered education is one of the best parts of Timothy. The teachers go out of their way to ensure you succeed and get an excellent education. There are many ways to get involved in the school, such as athletics, academics, theater, music, and so much more. Timothy is the perfect size; there is a large high school atmosphere but still a tight-knit Christian community. Overall, I would recommend this school for anyone looking for an academically competitive Christian school with a great staff to support them.

I have been going to Timothy Christian since 5th grade and through high school. It has been such a great experience to attend this school and it has shaped me into a well-prepared person for the future. The faculty here are truly caring and the teachers will always go out of their way to give you the best education possible. I have made many lifelong friends and cherished memories here.

Best Christian school in Chicagoland area. TC has excellent opportunities for any type of student. The school is very strong academically with an appropriate focus on Christianity.

I absolutely loved my experience as a student at Timothy Christian Schools. I attended preschool through high school and am so thankful that I was able to receive a Christian education. My teachers and coaches were so supportive, helping me grow both academically and spiritually. It’s so special to know that they truly care about each student and are praying for them. The community overall is amazing. I can’t say enough good things about my experiences at Timothy.

My son went to this school and it was a terrible experience. The bullying was off the chart and my son had PTSD from it for many years! The motto here is “ if you’re not Dutch you’re not much”. The teachers were mediocre at best. Many of the teachers were young and snotty. Ill never forget an administrative staff trying to talk us into staying claiming it was a great school and the next week she pulled her own child out of the school. Don’t waste money here…. York so much better than Timothy. My only regret is not pulling my child out sooner.

We would not recommend this school if you are the parent of young black or minority children. There is no diversity within the staff, teachers, or leaders at Timothy. There is no real attempt to help all children feel included especially those that are black or brown. The teachers lack the ability to relate, understand, and support the black and brown children. Timothy does a poor job of recognizing Black History Month and instead focuses their attentions to Hearts for Honduras during the month of February. Inappropriate comments are made to the children of color and there is no real empathy or desire to change the behavior. The solution or response is "they're just kids" "they didn't mean it" and that's totally unacceptable.Black and brown families are treated as a means to obtaining diversity ratings only. There is no real attempt at an inclusive culture. From the Mission & Vision Statements, to the Strategic Planning Strategies, none of it identifies the areas that Timothy Christian schools know they have room for opportunity when it comes to diversity, equality, inclusion, or belonging for minority families and their children. "For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ" 1 Corinthians: 12:12We all are a gift from God, We all have a gift to share. Timothy Christian should prayerfully consider letting everyone's gift shine in the same light.

A+ - We are not from IL, and stumbled into this amazing Christian school and community. Our two children (4th/9th grades) are now starting our 10th year at Timothy Christian, and have been so impressed with the faithful staff and education. I can recommend it without reservation as a place that transforms students academically, spiritually, and physically. Timothy Christian is known for its mission = developing academically prepared Christian disciples who embrace Christ's call to transform the world. Please visit!

My wife and I could not be happier with Timothy Christian Schools. Our children received a first class education, are prepared for life, and teachers teach through a Christian lens allowing their students to see Christ in everything. The facilities at Timothy are also second-to-none.

I was incredibly saddened by the lack of diversity in the administrative/faculty/leadership staff. Christ commission was to go therefore to people of ALL the nations...remove the Christian and just be Timothy. I rated the school average as I found very little good, nothing superior or great in our experience. I would recommend anyone to do their due diligence before selecting this school.

I found Benjamin Middle School to be more "Christian" in behavior -- hospitable, welcoming, friendly, fair than what we experienced at Timothy Christian. Terrible. At least during my visit, to attend a basketball game, I didn't find it a good, Christian place to send my children. Maybe the stuff on here about being more Dutch than Christian, and being permissive about bullying is true?

Amazing school with phenomenal Christian teachers who really care about their students. Class work is tailored to the individual students so they are challenged from an early age. Strong arts, music, and athletics programs. Our children are excited to go to school each day and have made wonderful friends. Thankful to be part of this caring Christian community with teachers, administrators, and other parents who share similar values.

If I could give this school a negative one I would. If you are looking for a school that supports bullying, then TCS is the one. This school has some the most unkind middle school girls that I have ever seen. The administration is so ineffective. We won't be back as we see no need to keep paying over $9,000 a year for average academics and constant bullying. As a matter of fact my children don't want to come back. It's really sad that a school pretends to be Christian, when it really should be called Timothy Dutch School or just Timothy School. We had hoped for more, but this school has a lot of problems with bias and loving other people of different ethnic races. Way to much favortism toward kids who are dutch.

While academically adequate, we are removing our kids from the school this year. I was encouraged by the religious aspects of the school and was excited to invest in a Christian education for my kids. Timothy has tried to add diversity (non-Dutch), however, the Dutch bonds are too much of a factor for them to overcome. There is a large community of families that went to school together and are now sending their children here. Many of them go to church together and make up their closest friends and family. When you have never been the newcomer or outsider in any situation, it is beyond your experience and ability to relate to the new kids. Also, my husband attended an event with one of our kids and a large group of alumni/parents were together as a group having a great time (who could blame them). When he approached the group, he was virtually ignored. I began to ask myself, why are we paying for this experience? If I or my kids are going to be excluded, I would rather it be by non-christians. It's easier to live with.

I am becoming a bit skeptical of this "Christian" school. Politics and favoritism play a key role here and I'm being rubbed the wrong way on how they handle certain people. I began to see this political type behavior surface about three months ago. Then I thought, maybe it's just me. Well, now even my husband has witnessed it and is not very pleased. He is the laid back person that ALWAYS blows situations off as if it's nothing but not this time. I don't want to give too many details just yet but will surely update depending on the outcome of everything we're going through. PARENTS - Keep your eyes, and heart open here. Ask God for guidance and wisdom. PRAY and watch the signs. I am not saying keep your child from being enrolled as there are some benefits academically, but spirituality is number 1 for me. We can get great academics elsewhere. Another parent warned me of this type of behavior and treatment but I did not want to believe it. I am crushed! I was really looking forward to a Godly atmosphere all the way around.

I am amazed at the love of teaching that is displayed by the teachers. My 7th grade daughter came out of her shell at Timothy and talks endlessly about her classes and what she is learning. Since going to TImothy, I never hear the words "I don't want to go to school" from any of my three children. It is wonderful to see that kindness and character matters. When I've been at school I've seen middle school students help younger students and boys hold doors for girls - don't we all want our daughters to be treated respectfully? The teachers in all classes encourage the students to pray & I have seen many students demonstrate compassion for others. We have been pleased with the cirriculum in elementary, middle school and high school and if additional assistance is needed, teachers are willing to help before or after school. It is no wonder people travel from over 50 different towns to attend the school. We live more than 15 miles away and there are 3 other families in our area that also do. Timothy Christian Schools are truly a blessing.

I pray that Timothy has improved. This school has great potential. But while my child was enrolled, I must say that I had my share of concerns. Being able to enter the facility because some well-meaning person would open the door for others instead of require that each person be buzzed in for security reasons was one of my concerns. Some of the teachers were great. A few were out to lunch when it came to being sensitive to the safety of my child. One teacher required my child to go out and pick up trash (without using gloves). My child actually picked up a cigarette butt. I was very unpleased upon learning this. One teacher had a problem keeping children from bullying other children. She would tell children being clobbered by bullying childen to just "shine for Jesus". But she had no children of her own. Also, I was invited to a pom-pom rally, but it left me thinking of Hooters instead of holiness. And I thought the principal was very ineffective. He seemed to just hear our concerns when we met with him without really listening with an aim of investigating the concern we shared with him to find the truth . So I thought it best to remove my child from Timothy.

Timothy Christian lives up to its name. Our two older kids are there and we look forward to having our third there too. TCS has a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. There are other quality schools in our area but we chose TCS because it is simply outstanding. I wish I could have gone there as a kid!
