After two years at this school, I am updating my review to acknowledge the positive experience this has been. My child has grown in social-emotional development; learning the expectations of the classroom; excelling at academics; and connecting with teachers and fellow classmates. The school has also evaluated my child well and the curriculum and delivery of instruction match the needs and present levels of performance. I feel good about my child going here.

One of the best Elementary School in Howard county. Teachers are proactively working and share feedback with parents. I would recommend this school.

Great experience so far. Actual sport activities in PE classes seem to be defunct. It's a lot of "activities" but the academics seem to be well above average.

My kids love this school. Everyday they are looking forward to going to school and always tell me the fun and interesting things they learned at school. The staff and teachers are very friendly and always respond to my questions in a timely manner. I wanted to add that they foster students with special talent. They also support students with different needs. Compared to the private school that my daughter used to go to , I actually liked Ilchester better.

We moved to Ellicott City because of the of the quality of teaching professionals at this school. Both of my children went to Ilchester Elementary, Bonnie Branch, and Howard High School. The education and experiences they received prepared them for college and beyond.

Wonderful learning environment. Staff are exceptional. Kind and generous families make up the school community. Our kids are fortunate to attend this elementary school!

We have 3 children attending Ilchester spanning the age range of the school. I am so impressed every day with how present the administration is (I see the Principal and Vice-Principal walking through the classrooms, talking to staff and students in the hallways, etc every single time I am there). With 3 kids and a total of 10 yrs in the school with at least one homeroom teacher and one math teacher per kid per year, we have experienced a large percentage of the teachers. All but one (who was still very good) have been truly exceptional, the kind of teachers you expect your kids to remember fondly their whole lives. It's telling that whenever there are open houses or events at the school, there are always a large number of kids from the middle and high school there visiting their old Ilchester teachers. Our kids happen all to be above-grade-level learners, but our next door neighbor has two children with autism who have significant cognitive, verbal, and social challenges, and she has nothing but praise for Ilchester as well. Everyone's needs are met here. The students are just lovely, and the community is too. You won't be disappointed with Ilchester. Welcome!!

We moved from another county to Howard County so our children could attend public school. We have been so pleased with the school --- Principal Adelman and Mr. Norfolk, and staff are truly dedicated to the children and consistently strive to maintain open lines of communication. We could not have picked a better school for our children. They are cared for and encouraged to do their best. We also enjoy the diversity among the student body.
