Terrible, i was a student who went to this school and let me tell you the learning environment was terrible and while bullying got recognized it never stopped. I was never even provided help when it came to my anxiety.

There is this kid that bullies others for their skin,size,shape,color, etc and it's just not a good school at all! i hate it! the teachers there are worthless!I don't think is a good school it sucks!

I have two children at this school and am so glad to have both of them there. Salk’s teachers really care about students and provide challenging work while also being very supportive. The atmosphere of the school is very positive and its the most diverse middle school in the district. The magnet program brings with it many opportunities for students to choose their learning. Big interactive projects like Science Fair and History Day provide students with opportunities that no other school in this area provide. We love it!

I love salk it is a great school. I was supposed to go to Vandenberg, but Salk puled me as a magnet. Im n enriched math but my school didnt have enriched math like others but my teacher is so good at teaching that I have an A. They have really fun clubs here that support kids and they are also really fun. I recommend this school.

the school only cares about awards and test scores, not how the students learn or if they learn at all

My son went here and he did okay, but there was a lot of bullying going on and much inappropriate behaviors, dressing and language. He was in special ed program, so he was more sheltered thankfully. Neither of my daughters have attended here

Salk middle claims to be advanced by integrating STEM into their curriculum. However students who are advanced won't be separated at all from those who are behind. They mostly focus on those behind rather than those advancing. Great minds should go elsewhere!

If you live outside the school district, then maybe this school would be a good choice, rather than an inner city school. If you child is autistic, or otherwise under a protected status, then maybe this school is for your child. We decided to send our child to this school because the school administrators convinced us he would get a better experience than at Rogers MIddle School. It was awful. Our child is smart, straight A's, but was put in all remedial classes. He was bullied incessantly, and the school did very little to help. Our child suffered emotionally going to this awful school. He was set back a year by being placed in low level classes, he lost all his friends because they went to Rogers Middle School, and he was bullied by the thugs that attend this school. Horrible experience I wouldn't wish on any nice kid. I have heard this school is wonderful for autistic kids, as they are protected from bullies and are also placed in AP type classes.

Some teachers are good, some not so good. It would be nice to get a reply from the principal when you send her a message. It would also be nice to have additional assistance available from the teachers for your child when he/she needs it. The school does have a good music program.

I love this school! It is now an all magnet school, unless if you are grduating in the years 2015 and 2016. The magnet program is good, but I'm not in it and I feel stupid because magnet students get all the credit. I love this school anyways and it has a great music program. I love almost all of the teachers and you are sure to feel safe here. We also have great physical education teachers that run the "Salk it to Me 5k Run/Walk" to raise money for our PhyEd equipment. You are sure to love it here.
