Do Not go to this school please. The P.E teacher is expecting too much from the older kids there are two yard duties who extremely mean and a lot of people are not going to like this but no TAG its only on the field and its not the same. The adults act WAY too nice to the little kids and they don't treat older kids the same way. There is some teachers who really can brighten up your day but other than that not a good school. I almost forgot the lunch too same thing for each day of the week and just food is bad.

The school in general is not 'that' bad. But oh boy, the food is not great ta all, the pasta is burnt, the cheese they put on the food doesn't taste like cheese , the milk is sometimes expired, the chicken doesn't taste like chicken, and etc. Another thing that I don't understand is, when children go to the blacktop, the yard-duties tell them don't run. They should be able to run because they have been inside for a long time and they need to get there energy out of their system. Overall the staff is 'OK' some teachers and yard-duties are really nice, but then the rest are super mean and don't really care. I don't recommend this school, but if this is your only option then go for it.

I would agree with the previous comment about the school secretary; she treats guest teachers as if they are her personal assistants.

My younger siblings went to Arthur C. Butler about 15 years ago. My mom loved this school. So I was pretty excited when it was time to enroll my kids there too. Boy, has this school changed and not for the better. This new principal has this school like the military. They have to cross their arms whenever they walk around the school, they can't play on the playground before school if they get there a little early. They have to stand in line until the bell rings. They can't sit next to their friends during lunch. They have assigned seats where they sit every single day. Not only that the front office staff is so rude and unprofessional. I tried several times to contact the principal about my child and other children being bullied, not once did I get a call back and when I went in she was to busy to meet with me.. sigh.. all these new rules, in my opinion is to much stress on these little innocent brains. And I say this because I have seen the impact on my children. They are more tense and I don't see the spark that they used to have for school every morning. One positive thing I can say is the teachers are amazing.

I feel that as a school they should be doing more to help students and inform parents on how they could better educate their children. Too much overload with homework at such an early age and not enough in the classroom.

My son, now in the 5th grade, has been here since Kindergarden, and we love it here. We specifically bought in this neighborhood to place our child at this school!
