It was bad and it went to worse the teachers there not all but most are very disrespectful. The principal never addressed a problem. There is no communication between parents and teachers. The lady’s working at the front office aren’t helpful at all. They give very bad customer service to the parents they give you attitude when you have a problem with a teacher. Since that principal got there is being getting from bad to worse.

Don't be scared off by some of these reviews, Lamar has a very different environment, the most obvious is that the parents don't rule. My child came from a school where exactly that happened. Parents would snap their fingers and no homework. Unfortunately for that, many times my child felt that they weren't challenged. Everyone in her grade had 90% but as soon as the exam came 50% failed. My child never even learned her multiplications. When I switched her here I saw a huge improvement. I was shocked when they told me she was below level. How could that happen when she was an A student in one school and suddenly a 60% student in another. My daughter was given tutoring the first half of the year, after that she was given Saturday school along with intervention. Her teacher was there every day to give support. She started as a student that didn't even know her times tables and ended up an "A" student getting commended on her 4th grade exam. So if you want teachers that will sing and dance don't come to this school. This is a tough school but they aim and push for the best.

I am a parent of three children at Lamar Elementary I have been a parent at this school for 8 years. In those 8 years the school has gotten worse. The administration has gotten out of control and the district does not care or even care to visit to see what is happening.I have 2 older children that attended Lamar years before this and the school was a great place to be at and learn with pride. As far as academically a parent wrote in their review that they are taught to memorize and that is exactly what is taught to memorize the test in this case the STARR. So, the scores are high but ask the children basic things in writting, grammar, and social studies outside the box. The children cannot answer unless it is in the form of the dittos of the test questions. This is sad. Parents are not respected and are not allowed in anyway or manner to help with the school they are not invited to any interact at events the children have. The school administration and staff are unfriendly, defensive, and sarcastic they are not trained in people skills, management skills or problem solving skills. Overall I am completely disatisfied with my childrens school and hope soon for new administration.

I would like to know where the money is going, because they are selling popcorn and popcycles, that money is suppost to go to PTA but there is no PTA. SO WHERE IS THE MONEY GOING? TEA AND ATTORNEY GENERAL OFFICE need to INVESTIGATE LAMAR ES FOR MANIPULATION OF OUR KIDS GRADES. THE PRINCIPAL AND EVERYBODY ELSE NEED TO TAKE CLASSES OF HOW TO TREAT AND RESPECT OUR KIDS. ALSO RESPECT PARENTS AND CHILDREN,NOT RETALIATING AGAIST THEM AND/OR THREATENING US AND/OR OUR KIDS. EASY, WE NEED A NEW PRINCIPAL, ASST. PRINCIPAL, COUNSELOR, DIAGNOSTICIAN AND SOME TEACHERS. WE NEED PEOPLE THAT ARE WILLING TO TEACH, NOT TO HAVE A SEAT AND DESTROY OUR SCHOOL AND OUR KIDS. IF IT WOULD BE ME, I WOULD GRADE IT 0 (ZERO). AT LEAST THE PRINCIPAL FROM PAUL MORENO DIDN'T TAKE ANYTHING AGAIST OUR KIDS.
