When I first came into Edison, everything was completely new. I had no friends, no social life, no clue on how to do anything. When I first stepped into the school in 6th grade, there was a whole change of atmosphere, and it felt so homely. Throughout the day, there were mulitple teachers helping me with whatever I needed and plenty of assistance. As an average Indian student, I've never felt an ounce of discrimination from anyone. Ive been going to TJ since 6th grade and now Im in 8th and the thing ive noticed is that the teachers work really hard. They try their best, are consistant, and put lots of effort into the kids. The problem isnt the teachers, its the students. Certain are the ones who are disrespectful and ignorant which causes teachers to get angry or have a change in demeanor. The bullying policy and guidence department is really good at what they do. Eveverything is always open when help is needed, and they always do a flawless job to make sure ever student feels safe. There is also lots of diversity so anyone can feel safe and find people to interact with. They make the atmostphere so cool, whenever you step into a classsrom you feel as in a new world and its so awesome. Theres not a single class which is plain and boring, theyre alll uniquely decorated and its really nice. Overall, if you're loooking a a good school, go to TJ with the right mindset and you are ensured one of the best years ever.

I came from Jersey City, whose schools were slightly above average and average, and I rarely used to get bullied there sometimes and the teachers used to be only fair. Upon coming to Edison nostalgia overtook me and I missed going to the Jersey City schools, but even in the first week of 6th grade in TJMS, things were changing for the better. The teachers were compellingly nice towards the students and even when I was sometimes struggling to conform with others, they helped me to do so. In every single subject, the teachers are helpful and persevering to help us understand the toughest topics and appreciate the smallest things in life. There are so many activities during Gym, not to mention the room is so large. The school has a really interesting design on the outside, being built on a short, elevating hill, so you would enter the school directly through the second floor. There is this medium sized hallway with glass windows, door sized. The school is really diverse, causing it to be crowded sometimes, but that is a great thing! It means to me that more and more kids are coming to the excellent, above average school each and every year. The cafeteria is large and the school lunch is really nutritious and excellent! There are 7 periods a day which is perfect for me even though it might seem a lot. Once when I had a fever, last week, the teacher helped me cope through the day and shortened my work load just for me to get better. One thing I completely do not understand is why the ratings for this school is just average and sometimes even below average in certain websites. In my diligent opinion, it should be a 7/10 like other Edison schools especially in the northern side. All in all, this is an excellent above average school for your child to attend now or even in the future!

This is the best school ever. The teachers are amazing, quite frankly, everything is amazing. You will complete the most stressful years of life in a loving and caring environment in which the teachers are not underpaid and overworked. They are very good I would recommend them to everyone. Everyone who reports this school as anything under perfect is a trouble maker and does not do their work.

I came to TJMS one year ago. Compared to Herbert Hoover Middle School, it is better by a lot(emphasis). Woodrow Wilson is just twice TJMS. Honestly, I have friends in all the different schools so, it doesn´t really matter to me. It si really not that different.

This school is OK. The teachers are very biased. And the vice principal straight up decides upon conflicts using color of skin. I am an average indian student, and I have been misjudged by my gym and english teacher.

I can very easly make friends in this school. This place is awsome! In ss, A A A A A A A A A A A A and so on with those a's. The teachers don't go 'bla bla bla bla bla bla bla!' The speak like regular humans:) We get to do projects( in MY science class) no more than 3 HW's for me:|)

TJ Teachers can be extremely helpful. The new Administration and Superintendent are soooo focused on TESTING, the teachers don't get to "teach" much. The principal is just focused on testing, doesn't leave her office much. Unless it's to discipline, or intimidate students, staff, and parents. She has very little interaction with others, and the vice-principal is just...."there." Things need to change.

TJMS principal refused to support the school soccer team coach and the players when WWMS soccer coach made false allegations of roughing the players against the TJMS soccer team after TJMS beat WWMS first time in many years. In addition, the principal also disciplined the soccer team by suspending some of the players for the rest of the season. Because of that TJMS ended up losing their remaining games. Is this how a principal should support her own soccer team? What a sports friendly person she is!

I hated this school so much. I got bullied by the girls at my lunch table because guess what? You have assigned seating at lunch and they call you up by table. So if your table is called last you only get 5 minutes to eat. Not even joking about the time. The teachers were okay but I didn't really understand what they were teaching. The only teacher's that were really nice were the gym teachers and my chorus teacher. The chorus teacher was the best! The school is confusing with the the whole AB day thing. Overall, this school stinks.

When I was there last year I was the scapegoat for others misdoings and when I discussed it with the "Friendly" teachers and principal they ignored me and in future instances they became biased in every situation following our discussion. Not only this but their were many fights making it an unsafe learning environment also I personally saw several students with knives when this was reported not only by me but by several other students and nothing was done about it. also I witnessed certain teachers observe other students disobeying many of the rules and not say or do anything about it. Overall i would rate this school a 1 out of 10 due to the repeated infractions of the rules that i have personally witnessed. This makes me overjoyed to say that I am no longer attending this school.
