Great. Both kids have attended. One has graduated and is studying at UW, majoring in Physics and Astronomy. The other is still attending, will graduate next year with intention of attending university. They both have had many teachers over the years that have inspired and encouraged them academically and in extracurricular activities.

Cedarcrest appears to be doing a good job with my daughter’s education with mostly excellent teachers and strong AP classes. Cedarcrest feels like the Leadership, Teachers and Students are very cohesive and I haven’t noticed any disciplinary problems with student that would give me concern for my daughter’s education or safety. I also haven’t seen any friction in the school between Leaders, Teachers and the Student body. It’s a smaller sized high school in the number of overall students and the physical building. Class size is reasonable with and average at 22 students per teacher and the graduation rates are very high. When are daughter started as a freshman, it felt like the quality of her education improved after she moved up from the middle school, Tolt and other parents I talk to seem to echo that sentiment. Tolt is the only middle school but is located in Carnation and Cedarcrest is located in Duvall. I also commend the school that the number of Seniors going on to college or continued education is high and tracked by the school as well as the place a lot of focus on helping the students with college testing, application and scholarships In my experience with parent teacher conferences and what my daughter related to me is that some of the teachers are outstanding, the clear majority of them are very good and we’ve only had a couple that we have experienced that I would consider poor and they did not teach in the core academic classes. One thing you notice when you attend a parent teach event or a curriculum night, is that most of the teachers are younger in age. This site says the Cedarcrest is way under the State average in AP class enrollment but I’m not sure this is right because when I look at the schedule they offer and fill a lot more then what appears to be single digit % AP class enrollment. Really feels like it isn’t calculated correctly because I can’t believe that ~5% of the student body takes AP classes, that just does not add up. Great school and in general the school districts progress had improved from being inline with the state averages when we moved here 18 years ago to now being consistently above and comparable to some of the better districts on the East side.

Overall, the experience has been mostly good. The school does take bullying seriously. We've seen students with more obvious differences receive inclusive treatment, but that does not always extend to kids with more subtle presentations.

The classes are not difficult enough and there is very little variation in classes particularly in science. You should not have to take honors biology before AP biology. Also honors physical science was the most worthless class I have ever taken, it was a complete repeat of 8th grade science and the teacher was absolutely terrible.

Great school because of its extracurricular activities available, wonderful technology programs, and an educational opportunity that accommodates all types of students.

Great School! They have academically very strong teachers in CHS. Success all depends on the kid him/her self, if the kid shows effort academically and keeps a positive & respectful attitude , teachers are always very supportive and helpful.

As I mentioned in my review of CVE, it frustrates me when people think the schools in Riverview School District are somewhat lesser quality and not quite up to the standards of the "prestigious" Northshore District it borders. I've had my children in 3 of the schools in Riverview and we couldn't be happier! Our oldest just graduated from CHS and she had a wonderful experience. CHS isn't as big as some of the other high schools on the eastside, but that was a plus for our family moving here from small town USA. We were impressed with the available classes as well as the number of clubs, activities and sports. I loved the fact that the district provides a "rooter bus" for the students to take to support their Redwolves at away sporting events. Parents can volunteer through PTA, however, it is high school. Do they really want us more involved than that? :) The students seem to have a lot of respect for principal Mr Lavarias and the one and only time we had a slight issue with a substitute teacher was handled very effectively by assistant principal, Mr LaBate. I definitely wouldn't overlook CHS or the Riverview School District just because it isn't Northshore.

My daughter attended. She has learning challenges, the teachers were very reluctent to accomadate her needs. Some were even reluctent to talk about how to give her the best chance of success. Very inflexable and nonresponsive. If you have the choice go somewhere else.

I went to cedarcrest for 4 years and while it isn't awful it isn't great either. Some of the teachers are super nice but when I think about it there are only about 5 I enjoyed having a class with. other teachers are awful! like a reviewer said before they should not be around children and are very unprofessional, same goes for many of the higher-ups in the school. The school is quite small but I liked that part about it. food is really bad, don't even think about enrolling your kid if they have any extreme food allergies, I did and the school did not care at all about cross contamination. I was out of school sick often because of this. The football games are fun because all of the funds for the school goes straight to football while other sports have to fundraiser to afford a bus to go to their own games. There is the average amount of bullying I see in other high schools but it really depends on the kids. If you can avoid it, don't bring your kids here
