  I have three boys at Potomac Shore Middle School. My youngest is in 7th grade, and my other two attend Potomac High School. The teachers are excellent and very supportive of both parents and students. While there are a few hot head kids, overall, it's a great place. Principal Dorsey is exceptional!   This school was ok, but they implemented weird rules at the end of when I was there. They made one way hallways and stairs, but made it terribly so traffic would clash and everyone was annoyed. They also closed down all the staircases except for 2, but one was far away from 90% of all the classes so people only used one. The stairs were super crowed, and not fun to use. What also did not help the problem, was we had 4 minutes to get to class! The teachers said they timed it, but they have longer legs and did not factor in lockers. On the topic of lockers, they only let you use they 1st 3rd and 6th period! You could not even use the lockers at the end of the day or you would get yelled at. I herd you can not even use backpacks anymore which is such a bad idea. Everyone dislikes all the science teachers. The principle has made big speeches on behavior, but the teachers were too lazy to do it so they would just give out warnings all the time. The behavior was horrible at this school because teachers let kids get away. The teachers that actually enforced the rules, were labeled as the "mean teachers" even though they were just doing what they were told to do. The performing arts programs were really fun though. I dont think potomac shores can keep a art teacher, because all the kids who act up take art for an "easy class" and just yell and goof off. Some of the teachers cried because of the kids. The car, and bus lines were not though up well enough, because the car line streatches in the the neiboring houses and busses are slow.
