We came from Brooklyn, NY as do many. We have one child with special needs and one child who is accelerated and the school did well by both of them. The child with special needs has an IEP and we experienced few of the hassles that we did in New York City. A lot of flexibility by the school and interest in making a curriculum work for our child. And for the more accelerated child, the curriculum and structures have been equally strong. Highly recommended.

There is little diversity in this classrooms. If your child is brown or black, they could be the only child that looks like them in the classroom. The teachers do not have experience with working with students with different cultures or races. The PTSA discriminated against a parent by kicking her off a committee because she was trying to implement an anti-bullying workshop and the district didn’t support it.

We’ve had wonderful experience with the teachers at Springhurst. However, the schools fails to recognize how diverse the school is becoming and has not prioritized tolerance training and an anti-bullying curriculum. Bullying issues aren’t addressed and reported in accordance to the regulations from NYS.

Has been incredibly An honestly integrated caring experience. So different from the city where there is a lot of beaucracy and steps beforeanything can be corrected or implemented.

Engaging, welcoming, devoted staff willing to go the extra mile. Pleasant learning environment for the children. Great curriculum! My 3 kids love waking up each morning and going to Springhurst.. Each year they add a new teacher to "My favorite teacher ever".

We have been very pleased with principal Drake and with the kindergarten and first grade teachers. They allow my daughter to progress at her own pace with extra assignments, partnering her with reading partners who are strong readers too and do a wonderful job of promoting inclusivity and instilling a love of learning. The peanut free table and nut policy should be revisited as it is alienating and dangerous to kids with severe allergies.

I couldn't be any happier with my daughter's experience so far in this school. Teachers are warm, nurturing, knowledgeable, and communicative. My daughter LOVES going to school and has found true joy in learning. As a parent, that is most important to me. Springhurst fosters such a compassionate environment, where all students are included in all activities. I can't say enough wonderful things about the staff.

Was surprised that ALL 3rd grade students did not have any homework for the whole month of September '17. The only instructions were recommended practices of Online learning programs. I asked staff and they skirt around the issue. I find this truly bizarre!

The teachers at Springhurst truly love their jobs and it shows in the way they nurture and care for our children! My daughter is genuinely excited about going to school everyday, which is a win in my book. The sense of community within Sprinhurst, and Dobbs, reminds me why we made the move to the burbs. If you're reading this and on the fence, know that it's the best move we've ever made, and I don't think you'll regret it!

I love Springhurst- amazing teachers and a wonderful curriculum. Emphasis is on strengthening whatever your child's strengths and weaknesses are. I went to a small private school when I was growing up and feel that my son receives the same attention and direction that I did.

Those are some LOW English Language and Math scores. The teachers can be very nurturing and my daughter loved the fact that she didn't get any homework. However, this school's claims of greatness have a lot more to do with the tax bracket of the residents of Dobbs Ferry and not performance. I was shocked at the poor quality of the curriculum. This is a great school if you have a child with special needs because the school has all inclusive classes in which profoundly autistic children have therapists who come into the class and assist them. Unfortunately for my daughter, she was bitten twice during the school year and the principal refused to change her class both times.

My children have attended top schools in another district, but you can not beat the small-town support and involvement of Springhurst. Both of my children are thriving and we could not be happier.
