    A great school with less behavior concerns & more teaching time.

    I was very pleased last year but this year it leaves something to be desired. My child's first grade teachers were amazing (Mrs. Engle and Feliciano). My child learned a great deal of Spanish and their is a free violin program. This year though they are not learning as much Spanish. The teachers are overworked and some of the classes are especially difficult. My child used to love school but no longer holds the same enthusiasm. Overall, It is a good school but it could be much better.

    After several issues with the teacher I've attended meeting with the principle trying to express my concerns and even asked to move my child to another classroom. The principle always told me she'll take care of the situation and move my child to another classroom but failed to. My child also wasn't being challenged, his reading and math is above his grade level and instead of giving him the appropriate grade level subjects they gave my son subjects he already knew and just passed him along the system. K-12 online will be his next school because Detroit schools are a big joke.... or at least Maybury is!
