This school is horrible sent a well mannered teenage girl to school sophomore year by senior year she was a stranger, this school is extremely toxic for students with a good head on their shoulders there’s constant bullying online social and societal norms clearly are not taught. I could be a victim of the times but phones and TikTok’s in the classroom because the teachers are not educators they are feeling based school with public funding. Just know sending your child here you sending them to the lions den with steaks for clothes.

I am a 2017 graduate. Although the academic education was not great, the students had good heads on their shoulders. I never witnessed bullying or harassment. The student body was like a family, all having dealt with similar traumas, that we understood our peers. i made so many more friends at North than I would have at East.

I am a alumni to North high who transfered from another Des Moines school and found the staff and the block schedule to be a great learning opportunity. Not only does the staff care about each student, bock scheduling makes time for a more hands on question and answering, help with homework or when a student just doesn't get something. I would recommend North High school to any student! Go POLARBEARS 1
