We are so grateful to Lincoln for the academics but also the community. Lincoln is small and cozy. Families get to know the teachers, staff and other families. My daughter went through the traditional education side and my son is on the Montessori side. The teachers have mostly been there for many years. They are solid and passionate about the work they do. The new principal is amazing. She is already bringing great growth and perspective into the environment. If you are considering this school, I recommend you take a tour and get a feel for the environment. It is a rare gem.

Lincoln has been an excellent school academically and social-emotionally for my daughter, who is in the traditional program. The teachers are warm and caring, very experienced, with strong retention at the school. The community is welcoming and close knit, and invested in the school and students. The principal is very visible and engaged with both kids and parents. It’s a really special place.

One of the sweetest, most nurturing neighborhood schools in the city of Denver. Both the traditional and Montessori teachers are incredible. Many of them have been at the school for more than 10 years. The principal is a former Montessori teacher and knows the strengths of both forms of education. Her leadership has been a light in the public school system. There are very few schools that do both traditional and Montessori education this well. Both of my children have thrived, love school, feel comfortable and safe in this environment.

I am a parent of a current elementary student in the Montessori track at Lincoln and plan to enroll our younger child here next year. We have been so impressed with Lincoln. Our daughter has kind and caring teachers and is thriving in and outside of the classroom. The specials, enrichments and after school program are also awesome. The parent community is very engaged and works closely with the school. It is obvious that Lincoln is dedicated to creating and maintaining a caring and inclusive community. We are grateful for Lincoln!

Lincoln has been the perfect fit for our family - all 3 children have attended since kindergarten. Our youngest is in her last year as a 5th grader, off to Middle School next year. We will miss the teachers and community of this special school.

We have been at Lincoln now for one year and love the community this school has. Our daughter is thriving, reading and just overall happy. When the bell rings, she screams "Yay!" and runs right into school. The amount of growth and development we have seen in her since starting has been enormous and we attribute much of it to the teachers, her peers and her after care program too. The teachers and staff care and are very responsive at Lincoln and we are so happy to have a Public Montessori in our neighborhood!

We have been attending Lincoln for two years and are extremely happy with the close community we have formed. The school PTSA (Parent Teacher Staff Association) is what sets this school apart. At every level, you feel involved with your child's school and community. My daughter comes home excited about what she is learning and is supported emotionally. The family engagement is incredible. From neighborhood fundraising, movie nights, scavenger hunts, and bike/walk rodeos. The school is welcoming and has an exciting/safe learning environment. For anyone who is looking for a community for their child, you will not find a better school.

We have a son in the Montessori program, who started during Covid. We've been in-person this year, with an abundance of caution that is still very child-centric. Our son looks forward to school---through school, he's gained a community (as have we), he's participated in the garden, has started reading, writing (in cursive :)), has an inquisitive understanding of the world around him, and has found an interest in his peers and world that wasn't as strong when he was a younger kid. The Montessori program has been fantastic for his learning style, freeing some of his more rigid tendencies, and being academically minded with a goal of bettering the child (NOT just his test scores). He has a tenured teaching staff, which I'm grateful for. I too have found a community. We moved to the neighborhood the year prior (from out of state), and through this school, I've found an active and engaged parent body, and a neighborhood that uses the playground in the evening hours. We love Lincoln and have recommended this school to friends and neighbors.

We have been a part of Lincoln Elementary School for 9 years. It is an amazing community in West Wash Park. For starters, it is diverse, both in the student and teacher population, which is educational and supportive, simply by being diverse. Lincoln has a caring and collective parent community that does so much to volunteer to make the school the best it can be. Lincoln cares about the environment and teaches the students how to be good humans in society. Many students walk and bike to school. (Though others must drive because they school choice in to our gem of a DPS school.) I wouldn't send my children to another elementary school in a million years.

I have two children at Lincoln. The teachers are amazing and we are so pleased to be part of the warm, nurturing community. Montessori education in a public school is a gift for all! I couldn't recommend this school more highly.

Looking at middle schools for our son for next year, and it makes us realize how much we have loved having our children at Lincoln. Lincoln represent all the best things you would want for your child in a small neighborhood school!

Lincoln Elementary is an amazing community school that feels like a family. I have three children that have gone to this school and have been really pleased in its innovative approach to teaching fundamentals like literacy and math as well as outstanding staff in art, music, PE, and special education. Some highlights: The school has extremely committed teachers with many years of experience which makes the difference in the quality of the teaching and management of children in the classroom. From my observation, the teachers are passionate about education-- they are strong in teaching the fundamentals, but also seem to be continuously learning and open to innovation. The school has a really strong emphasis on character development through its "Lincoln Values" of respect, integrity, inclusiveness, responsibility, courage, and caring. Last year, my first grader would talk to me about integrity and inclusiveness unprompted -- those words entered her vocabulary because of the great job the school does in instilling these values in our kids. These values create a school environment where kids are open-minded and kind to one another. The school offers both Montessori and traditional classrooms and many families have children in both tracks. This model offers some flexibility to parents who kids may be different learners. The special education teacher at the school is amazing. One of my children is dyslexic and she made the difference in teaching my daughter to read which really encouraged her love of learning. She has since gone on to a high performing middle school where she was able to hit the ground running academically. The parent community at Lincoln is phenomenal. Many great friendships have been forged among students and parents on the playground after school. Students' families are committed to supporting the school through volunteerism, donations and community building events such as a fall festival, field day and bike rodeo.

This school has been a disappointment on every level. As a parent, I would be wary to send a student here if there has any potential for individual needs and application.

This school is too dogmatic about Montessori and applies it like a religion ignoring individual needs of students. We left the school and are much happier.

Our son had struggles at first and we committed to working with his teacher and supporting his success at Lincoln, and he is flourishing. It's simply amazing. It takes time and commitment, but we have learned so much and see so much development in our kiddo. The school and teachers are true experienced, professionals making a daily difference for kids and families. We are grateful to be part of this school.

We have been at Lincoln in the Montessori track age 3-10 (pre-K through 5th grade). Without a doubt, the teachers are its biggest asset; they are excellent, passionate, and most have been there many years. The PTSA (parent association) is very active and does many things for the school including lots of wonderful community events.

Lincoln Elementary was a very bad school. It did have great learning though. The teachers were disrespectful to the students and downgraded them. They yelled and insulted the children. I would NOT recommend this school to anyone.
