Awesome school. Daughter has been attending since kindergarten and am glad I didn't switch her out and let her continue in the 5th grade. St john luthern has a very warm and friendly environment and very understanding of any issues happening in life. I love the Christian setting and teachings. No judgements and make you feel comfortable. Personal attention and smaller classes. Teachers are great and communicate. If their is anything to do to help protect kids from the craziness of life and the typical things of any public school would be to send them to St John Lutheran.

I appreciate this school for so many reasons. My kids are learning in a safe environment and learning about God on a daily basis. They come home singing about how much Jesus loves them and that warms this Mom's heart. I don't have to worry about what they are learning because they are learning the same principles that we are teaching them at home. The Principal Mr. March is leading the teachers by example and I appreciate everything he is doing for the school to make it an incredible place to learn for every student. They are continuously making changes to accommodate for challenges that their students are having and with the small class sizes the teachers and staff can see those issues and address them as needed. The teachers are kind and generally love what they are doing and I can see that everyday I walk through the halls. There are also lots of opportunities for parents to be involved at St John Lutheran. There is a Parent Teacher League for parents and teachers to organize fun events for the students and their families. I love this school and look forward to the many years that I will have kids attending St John Lutheran. I am excited to see it grow because this is an incredible school and I'm proud that Defiance has a Christian school like this available. I would highly recommend to everyone.

SJL is a great school with a wonderful principal and teaching staff. They go out of their way to try and help each student do their very best. It is important to our family that the Christian values are taught as well. They have done well during the pandemic times to keep the school operating and the kids feeling connected. For a very small school there are lots of activities for the kids to get involved with.

We have had children in the SJL school system for going on 6 years now. There are so many different things that appeal to us in making our decision to send our children there. The Christ-Centered education is at the top of our list. This world is such a jaded and ugly place sometimes. We feel like we are giving our children the best chance at success by arming them with good Christian fundamentals as a foundation to carry them through the rest of their lives. The small class sizes ensure that they receive individual attention. My kids love that the students all know each other from the preschool level all the way up to the 8th grade. We feel like we are part of a family at SJL, not just another number or a face in the crowd. The before and after school care really is a fantastic added feature as well. We are a family with 2 working parents and having our kids stay in one building from the time we drop them off until we can pick them up after work is really fantastic. We love SJL and recommend it to all of our friends!

Love it! Wouldn't want my kids going anywhere else. The whole school is just so powerful and uplifting.
