This is my 10th year as a parent at this school. And while it has had its moments of moments of failure, the new principal, Mrs. Hammoud has turned this school right around. She has done amazing things for morale and is well experienced with special needs students. This is the best the school has been in a number of years!

My child moved to this school four years ago and has experienced 3 different principals. Each year I have tried to give the new administration a chance, however the school has not improved at all. Biased punishments, horrible scheduling (at one point classes started at 10 on Wednesdays and they make students/parents wait outside for unnecessary morning announcements after the bell rings EVERY DAY), rude staff, less than average curriculum. My son learned a lot more going to school in Detroit than in Whitmore-Bolles.

The Whitmore-Bolles staff will try whatever it takes to give their students the best education possible. They are turning our children into leaders of the community and holding them responsible for their actions. Not only do I feel my children are receiving a great education, I feel they are learning to become responsible young adults.

Most teachers seem very involved. My daughter learned an incredible amount in kindergarten and loved learning it. The principal is great and everyone is the office is so helpful & kind. We love this school!

As an active parent at the school I see the daily ins and outs of the school. It has a great community involvement, parents, teachers and students.

Wonderful Staff who are always welcoming to the kids and parents. My daughter was in the school from Pre-K through 5th, loved it and is a 4.0 student. My son is also doing well, again, loves his school. No school is prefect and academically I wish some things were different but with budget cuts, they are doing their best with what they have. No one wants split classes (kids, parents or teachers) and we need text books, but again with lack of funds, the teachers have to improvise and kids have to share books. My son is happy, learning and motivated to go to school... therefore, I am happy and I enjoy helping in the school.

The kindergarten class size was over crowded but the principle did eventually open a 3rd kindergarten class which has been a great difference. I know the district is struggling with financial issues but I still think it's a great school so far. My daughter's teacher and the Principle seem to really care.

Unfortunately Whitmore Bolles has turned out to be a horrible school. Classes are so over crowded that my childs education is suffering. There are 30 kids to 1 teacher in my childs class. The old principal was amazing and ran a wonderful school. The new principal seems to be struggling to say the least. The PTA has only about 5 active members. I was told that because of the school districts financial trouble they are unable to hire teachers or provide teacher assistants or paraprofessionals to help with the large class sizes. What was once a great school turned out to be a huge disappointment.
